This Saturday is our annual 'Get set weekend' where we need plenty of volunteers to come down to the ground to help prepare the ground for the season ahead.

Many hands make light work, so please pop along, even if you can only spend an hour. Juniors are welcome to come and help too.

Meet time is 9.30am (not 9am as the poster states) and if possible, please bring a spade, rake and if anyone has an edging tool or a wheelbarrow that would be helpful too!

Having finished our indoor season, we have made the decision to merge our page with the main Caistor Town CC page for a more cohesive approach ahead of the outdoor season.
Please be aware that as of 31.03.26, we will stop posting on this page and will post all our updates on the main club page. This page will remain so you can still access reports and photos but all subsequent reports etc will be on the main club page. Please make sure you follow us on main page if you don't already! 🏏🏏🏏🏏🏏

Our indoor leagues came to an end yesterday with the last game in the Magnavale Softball League North, against Alkborough. Here is the match report from the captain, Jane:

Our last game of the season was played today against a strong Alkborough side who were a pleasure to play and won convincingly!

We worked to gain runs and keep wickets low but skilful bowling and sharp fielding kept us to 231. Lily and Claire put on a solid batting and bowling partnership with the rest of the team picking off singles where they could.

Wickets were taken by Christa, Claire and Lily and a good selection of dot balls from Sarah, Emma and Debs showed fantastic development in this area. Tasha bravely faced down some fast balls in the field and is growing in confidence as a bowler every game.

Despite our loss, it was brilliant to see so many supporters for all the teams that played today (including Outcasts and Broughton) and to witness the growth of the women’s indoor game. The camaraderie and friendliness I felt today from all the teams was lovely and it’s a privilege to be part of this amazing group of women who love to play cricket.

A special mention must go to Freya, who umpired for the first time today with great skill and maturity, and Ellie and Beth for scoring.

The Womens Indoor Super8s North League concluded tonight and we took the win over Outcasts by 26 runs.

It was an enjoyable game against a new opposition, who won the toss and put us in to bat.

The opening pair of Carolyn and Helen settled in well, with some excellent running between the wickets. The pace increased when Eleanor came into bat at 4 and Bea at 5 and the run rate increased with some excellent shots. Standout batting from Carolyn and Eleanor who both retired on 16, and we put on our highest score of the league, a total of 72 for the loss of only 2 wickets.

Outcasts came into bat and our bowling kept things tight and made run scoring difficult, despite an excellent innings from their top scoring batter, with 2 big 6s. Outcasts ended their innings on 46 for the loss of 1 wicket. Our standout bowling was Helen with 1/3 and Anne-Marie, Lily and Sarah keeping things really tight and accurate. Claire kept things tight as always behind the stumps.

Yesterday the softball team played their penultimate match in the Magnavale Softball League North, against Outcasts.

Outcasts won the toss and put us in to bat. We went into bat full of confidence, with the goal of setting a high target, as we have done in previous games. This week however, was not our week with the bat, with wickets falling too frequently. The stand out batting performance came from the two younger players, who opened the batting, with Lily scoring 16 and Freya scoring 14. We ended with a net score of 234, with the loss of 11 wickets.

We went into bowl and wicket taking opportunities were minimal, as Outcasts played a great tactical game by knocking off the total steadily and taking no risks. The pick of the bowlers was again our younger players, Lily with 2 wickets and Freya with 1 wicket. There were 3 exceptional catches from Clare, Lily and Freya and some tight fielding, but we just didn't get enough wickets and Outcasts took the win by 14 runs, ending on a net score of 248, with the loss of only 3 wickets.

Full credit to Outcasts for a brilliant team performance. Thanks as always to our scorers and umpires.

This leaves us mid table with 1 more game next week.
