FULL TIME RESULTS

A mixed afternoon for Caister, with both sides putting in plenty of effort across two tough fixtures.

FIRST TEAM - MUMMERY CUP

The First Team bow out of the Mummery Cup following a 4-2 defeat to Premier Division side Aylsham.

The lads can definitely hold their heads high, with the performance deserving far more than the scoreline suggests. A positive showing against strong opposition, despite the result. 👏

RESERVES - DIVISION 3

The Reserves come away with a 3-2 victory and three points in the bag! 💪

Another game where the lads conceded from the only two real chances against them, with two hideous mistakes punished. Thankfully, the response was there and the boys did just enough at the other end to secure the win.

TWO CAISTER LEGENDS RETURN 🔥

After a long spell on the sidelines, George Barnden makes his return from injury and goes straight into the squad. 👊

And there’s another familiar face back in Caister colours…
Garrett Ward returns to the club after five years away. During that time Gaz lifted two Junior Cups and he goes straight into the squad for tomorrow’s huge game. 🏆🏆

But that's not all…
SEVEN MORE PLAYERS who were unavailable for our previous fixture are back and available for selection.
That means a completely different look to the squad and plenty of home debuts to look forward to as well.

THE OPPOSITION

Bohemians come into the game having won their opening two league fixtures, while Caister have played just once so far, a hard fought away draw against a side who had opened their campaign with a 9-0 victory.

Aylsham have already had one competitive fixture this season, going down 2-0 in the Senior Cup, so they'll be looking to put that result behind them and make their mark in the Mummery Cup.

🛟 SATURDAY’S RESULTS 🛟

🏆 FIRST TEAM | SENIOR CUP 2ND ROUND

The first team booked their place in the Senior Cup 3rd Round with an impressive 3–1 victory over Premier Division side Scole United.

It was far from the perfect start, conceding inside the opening minute and struggling through the first 15 minutes. But the lads showed fantastic character to turn things around, fight their way back into the game and ultimately deservedly take the win.

There were heads in hands moments. A missed penalty where the rebound was converted but ultimately Caister wanted it more.

🛡️ RESERVES | DIVISION 3 SOUTH

The Reserves faced a tough test away to Wymondham Town, who had opened their season with a huge 9–0 victory. With 10 players unavailable, the lads knew they would have to dig deep.

Wymondham took the lead after just 10 minutes following a sloppy pass across the box which was picked up by their striker and calmly finished.

From that point on, the lads stepped it up and worked tirelessly. For the remaining 80 minutes, the Caister goalkeeper didn’t have to make a single shot-stopping save, while numerous chances were created at the other end.

Their persistence finally paid off in the 87th minute, as they grabbed a deserved equaliser to secure a valuable point on the road.

The Reserves also played their last pre season friendly Saturday and came away with a strong 4-1 win against Hingham FC.
