Based in-between Caerphilly and Cardiff, Ridgeway Golf Club and Driving Range is now a Social Enterprise, a non profit organisation run by a voluntary board of directors, with the aim of making the game of golf more accessible and open to the whole community. Social enterprises are becoming an increasingly popular business model and some such as John Lewis, Swansea City FC, The Big Issue, Café Direct and the Fifteen-restaurant chain run by Jamie Oliver enjoy high profile success. As a Social enterprises we will compete in the market like any other business pursuing and making profits, but as there are no shareholders these profits will be reinvested back into the club and community helping Ridgeway achieve its goals. Thanks to a loan from the Welsh Government “Community Investment Fund” we are able to undertake a significant refurbishment programme with the aim of making Ridgeway one of the best facilities in the area
