Caerphilly Castle Ladies and Girls Football Club Welcome to Caerphilly Castle Football Club! 🏆 Based in Caerphilly, we’re an all-girls club for ages 4-14 and were proudly awarded Club of the Year 2024!

Our mission is to create a safe, fun space where girls can be brave, build confidence! 💛 This is the official open page for Caerphilly Castle Ladies and Girls Football Club. The club was formed in 1999 and provides football for ladies and girls in the community with the support of the Football Association of Wales, Welsh Football Trust, South Wales Football Association and Caerphilly County Borough Council.

What a morning it was for the u12s yesterday,

First home game of the season, Caerphilly derby day! Caerphilly is most certainly yellow after today!

The girls turnt up yesterday and decided to give the opposition hell!

The football ability from every single player today was immense, we played as a team, scoring goals for fun, defending was a complete brick wall, supporting each other. Set pieces, the girls were extremely powerful on, holding the defending line to ensure opposition attackers couldn't get through, we truly gave the opposition no chances, to the point of Beth our goal keeper was practicing yoga!

Some cracking goals from our girls, Sienna bagging two goals from the left and getting an assist, Lia scoring a brace, Poppy Hart with a beautiful hatrick-And finally Hayes chipping their goal keeper.

Our captain Livy leading the team, supporting her players, keeping her line in her defence, and playing with a smile on her face!

POTM today belonged to Sienna Roberts, she was unstoppable on the wing, cutting inside their defenders, beating every player she come up against, and working back every time into defence, she shown true skill and passion💛

Well done girls, a result to celebrate, see you all Wednesday 💛

A challenging morning in the rain for our under 11s today where we travelled to Brynna to play the hosts, Porth, Hopkinstown and Ponty.

Lots to learn from the games. We had spells of good passing and moments of tidy feet but were just outplayed by our opposition in the games 👏.

Goals today came from Lacie Leigh who danced through the defense to slot home ⚽. Immie got one for us too, driving from her own defense to power it home ⚽. Another highlight for us was Bonnie's thunderbolt of a shot which was somehow saved by the keeper ⚡.

Our player of the match was Sienna (Si Gi) who made some fantastic saves and goalkeeping decisions. Some of the shots were so hard you could hear the clap off her gloves from the other end of the pitch. Great voice through out and always smiling. Good job Si Gi 🏆.

Under 10s another cracking morning in Ponty. The girls today put on some lovely passing, nice one twos and highlight was passing from end to end for a goal.

6 diffrent keepers all stepped up and didn’t put a foot wrong.

Our defence Eila & Brooke was immense again with not letting anything pass through them and playing out from the back was superb.
Our midfield Sophie , Eirys, Eloise , Paris were superb in winning and keeping possession , our General in midfield Eloise scored some crackers..

our strikers Evie & Ivy were nuisance too the defenders with both getting into good goalscoring positions and leading the line brilliantly

Goals today were Eloise ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️, Evie ⚽️⚽️, Brooke ⚽️, Eirys ⚽️, Paris ⚽️.

Two teams of under-8s took to the pitch this week, finishing with a combined record of 1 win, 2 draws, and 1 loss for both squads.

​The games of the day featured a dominant 2-0 win for the Yellows against a spirited Porth side hitting the post twice, and a gritty comeback for the Greens, who fought back from 2-0 down to secure a deserved 2-2 draw against a strong Cascade team.

​Across both teams, the girls worked hard. They maintained their positions, utilized the wings effectively, put in strong tackles, and stayed focused and determined from start to finish.

​Yellows

💪​Emilia shook off a knock, strapped herself up, and battled through to deliver her trademark no-nonsense tackles.

🧑‍🎓​Aoife orchestrated the attack in the first match, playing a hand in both goals with superb passes from the back.

🔋​Lana played with incredible energy and looked very strong filling in at the back, using her pace to close down opponents.

🏃​Betsy was her usual busy self, driving forward with clear purpose and determination.

🌩️​Delilah bagged another brace, highlighted by a worldly goal where she picked up the ball in her own half, shrugged off two challenges using herpower, and unleashed a thunderbolt from range with the outside of her boot. She was also completely assured during her two games in goal.

🌟​Yellows Player of the Week: Clara made a series of outstanding stops and commanded her area brilliantly. Playing up front as well, she covered every inch of the grass, pressed defenders relentlessly, and was rewarded with her very first goal for her efforts.

​Greens

🏃​Willow made some fantastic runs and came very close to being rewarded with a goal against the Dragons.

🥵​Sophia put in an immense shift, with her red cheeks serving as clear evidence of her tireless work rate.

🪖​Mila commanded her goal with total confidence and was committed in defence.

⚡​EV's footwork was exceptionally slick—so much so that two opposing coaches specifically complimented her dribbling and skill on the ball.

🌟​Greens Player of the Week: Amelia earned the honor through intelligent play, successfully taking on defenders, and sharp shooting.

​The coaches are immensely proud of today's efforts, with every player putting in a massive shift against tough competition.

U7s were back in action today! After a long summer break they were excited to get back to it!

The U14s had their first experience of an 11-a-side fixture today, with their first league match played against Lisvane Panthers. ⚽️

From the beginning, both teams looked competitive, and the girls went into half-time 4–2 down. It was a difficult game, but the girls were aggressive, tenacious and didn’t give up for one moment.

There were goals from both sides, which ultimately resulted in a 6–6 draw! 12 goals! 🤯⚽️

Unbelievable performances today from every player. Everyone left it all on the pitch and was absolutely fantastic. 👏🏼

A huge well done to Lilly, Malia and Calla, who had their first match today. Absolutely amazing effort from each of you! ❤️

Some highlights…

The twins were fantastic! Confident runs down the wing from both Amelia and Chloe, with some great shots as well. Love to see it! 😎 And even a cheeky goal!

Solid in the middle! Lydia was great at holding up the ball and looking to play forward.

Iris had a class game, scoring 2 goals — including one from a free kick!

Grace was captain today and had some great chances, showed fantastic skill in her duels and never stopped encouraging the players. 👏🏼

Faith and Megan were calm and composed at the back and looked confident when playing the ball forward.

Neave has come on so much over the summer with her development, and it really showed today — 2 goals and non-stop running! 🔥

And let’s not forget Ruby, our GK, who saved an unbelievable penalty in the final moments of the game. What a moment! So proud — keep going, you are absolutely smashing it! 🧤👏🏼

And finally, Player of the Match went to Caitlin 👏🏼

Caitlin played out of her usual comfortable position today in defence and was a fantastic sweeper, making some great recovery runs and key tackles throughout the game. Absolutely deserved! 👏🏼

What a first 11-a-side league game for the girls. 6–6, 12 goals and a whole lot of determination! 💪🏼⚽️

U12’s had their first competitive game against Rhydfelin.

We only had 10 players so were right up against it from the off but the girls were outstanding.

We went 1-0 up with a screamer from Poppy Hart but then after defending for a while slipped to a 3-1 score line.

We had an injury early on in the second half so our girls had to dig deep and play to the final whistle and they really delivered.

Goals from the excellent Gwen and Lia brought us level to 3-3 and we could have nicked it at the end.

The girls should be so proud of themselves today, they fought for each other and really played as a team and showed so much character to get back into the game.

PT made some outstanding saves in goal where she doesn’t normally play, Lyla made her presence felt in the second half in midfield, Josie was excellent at right back second half, PJ was tenacious in midfield and kept her head against a physical opponent and Bella made some great clearances. Hayes kept attacking the goal until the final whistle and Sienna R battled hard throughout the game.

Our captain Livy was player of the week.
She put in an absolute shift, always available to take the ball, marshalling her teammates, last ditch tackles, marauding runs, she had it all! She must be knackered tonight!!

So many positives to take into the season, well done girls, let’s smash the Dragons next Sunday 🥊

Back in action for our U11s today and the girls didn't take long to fire up their engines. Great to see them confidently take to the pitch after some time off. We travelled to Porth where we played the hosts, Bridgend and Coity.

Our defense; Darcie, Isla, Lily and Si Gi (Sienna) worked their socks off to keep the goals out. They revelled in the physical battles they faced and constantly kept their team in the game!

Eleri, Lottie, Lacie and Immie pushed forward together at any given moment. They created a lot of chances for the team and were confident in breaking through the oppositions defense. Shout-out to Lottie for pushing through the games with an injury, what a machine. Goals today were finished by Immie ⚽⚽⚽.

Our player of the match went to Bonnie who ran the show in centre-mid. Bonnie was super confident in pushing forward and linking up with her team mates but also worked incredibly hard defensively. Her assist in the second match was a highlight and I think there's so much more to come from this girl! Well done Bons! 🏆

Under 10s glad to get back to action in their new kit, it was raining goals in Bridgend ⚽️

4 games, 4 wins and no goals conceded 💛. The girls been putting the hard work in training and it’s showing on the pitch.

Our defenders Eila,Brooke and Charlotte were a rock at the back didn’t put a foot wrong and their passing was top notch.

Our midfield Eloise,Eirys,Sophie, Paris and Molly were amongst the goals and ran the show controlling the tempo of the game.

Our strikers Evie and Ivy got into good positions and led the line well helping the team out from top of the pitch

There tackling was solid and broke down countless attacks 👊

Passing and link up play was brilliant that set up lots goals👌

Shooting boots were on fire 🔥 to keep us excited through the games.
