A day on in the mountains is for all the family, from kids to grandparents. We can adjust bespoke days to suit you.

We recently had a group who's age ranged from 16 all the way up to 78 on Yr Wyddfa. While we may recommend a minimum age of 10 years, we understand that some young people are really up for, and capable of, a big adventure and we want to encourage this.

Usually things slow down for us a bit during August, but you've been keeping us busy!

The news reports of fires have kept us a little on edge this summer. Hopefully you've done your research and learnt from the mistakes of others so we can ensure these fires don't happen again.

💙 19x Guided group walks on Yr Wyddfa, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis
💙 82x Open guided group walks on their way to our website for 2027
💙 2027 Mountain Training Course dates already online
💙 37x participants joined us for their Gold DofE Residential - For the first time in RAW history, we had to buy MORE fruit!!!
💙 £50,000+ raised by 15 year old Zac who travelled 250 miles by foot before another 250 miles by bike all in aid of Young Epilepsy
💙 2x Mass participation events delivered and supported
💙 15x peaks over 3000 ft summited in our Open Welsh 3000s Challenge

We're certainly welcoming the rain at the moment, while still looking forward to some gorgeous autumnal ascents. We've missed the smell of damp earth and the sound of mountain streams.

Yr Wyddfa - the world's first plastic free mountain?

100 years ago, all mountains were most likely plastic free, however, this is no longer the case. Yr Wyddfa receives over 600,000 visitors every year, all of whom bring items such as packets of food and bottles of water and not everyone takes them away again. The Plastic Free Yr Wyddfa team are working hard to educate people on the importance of taking your rubbish home as well as the alternatives to disposable plastics to begin with.

Join the plight by choosing to refill a reusable water bottle instead of buying a new one every time. Pack your own lunch and snacks in reusable tupperware instead of plastic sandwich bags.

Slow travel is about experiencing a place, not rushing through it.

A mountain walk is the perfect way to slow down by taking in the views, breathing the fresh air, and enjoying every step instead of just the summit destination.
