Aleksander Doba, a Polish adventurer, was the first person to cross the Atlantic by paddle from Europe to New York, completely alone and unassisted.
In 2017, at 70 years old, he paddled 5,000 miles from the port of Le Conquet, France, to the coast of New York, facing storms, strong currents and the loneliness of the ocean for 110 days. His feat demonstrated an astonishing level of physical and mental resilience, inspiring generations of adventurers.
