I get a lot of questions about Red Light Therapy.

“Does it actually work?” “What’s the science behind it?” “Is it just a trend?”

Fair questions. Let me break it down.

Here’s what’s happening at the cellular level:

Red light therapy uses specific wavelengths (630-850nm) that pe*****te deep into your skin and tissue.

When the light hits your cells, it gets absorbed by your mitochondria - the powerhouses that produce energy.

Red light stimulates mitochondria to produce more ATP (cellular energy).

More energy = faster healing, better function, healthier cells.

What this means for you:

Skin health. More collagen, fewer wrinkles, better tone.

Faster recovery. Reduced inflammation, quicker muscle repair.

Pain relief. Helps with joint pain, FDA-cleared.

Better sleep and mood. Supports natural melatonin production.

It’s not magic. It’s just light energy triggering your cells to work better. But I like to call it magic!

Honestly a game changer for me. I can’t recommend it enough and it will work for you too.

The Red Light Bed and the Red Light Sauna at Revive is just on your doorstep. Try them, I can guarantee you’ll fall in love!

1. Sleep is key
Quality sleep supports memory, mood and brain repair.
2. Sauna sessions
Supports circulation, reduces stress and improves sleep, all crucial for brain health.
3. Strength training
Improves insulin sensitivity and reduces inflammation, important for brain health.
4. Daily walking, ideally outdoors
Boosts blood flow to the brain, supporting mood, sleep and cognitive health.
5. Oily fish
Sardines, mackerel and salmon provide omega-3 fats supporting brain structure and reducing inflammation.
6. Berries
Rich in antioxidants and polyphenols supporting brain signalling and protecting against oxidative stress.
7. Nuts (especially walnuts)
Provide healthy fats, vitamin E and polyphenols linked to better cognitive health.
8. Stable blood sugar
Regular meals with protein and fibre support steady brain energy.
Small habits for a healthier brain.

Herbal and medicinal healing without the prescription. I’ve always believed prevention is better than cure and if you can strengthen your immunity during the start of cold season you will be less likely to get those nasty bugs. Give these a go. You’re welcome 😜

In recent years, infrared saunas have become a staple in the health and wellness community, and for good reason. This innovative technology not only offers a deeper, more effective form of heat therapy compared to traditional saunas, but it also presents a range of health benefits that support both physical and mental well-being. As someone who is passionate about optimizing health and vitality, I’ve found infrared saunas to be a transformative addition to my personal wellness routine—and I’m excited to share how you can integrate them into yours.

What Is an Infrared Sauna?

Unlike conventional saunas that rely on heating the air to raise the temperature of your body, infrared saunas use infrared light to directly heat your body. This form of light pe*****tes deeper into the skin (up to 1.5 inches below the surface), allowing for a more intense and effective detoxification and relaxation process. There are three types of infrared wavelengths used: near, mid, and far infrared. Each has its own specific set of benefits, but all contribute to the sauna’s overall therapeutic effects.

Even a single session of HIIT can deliver short-term boosts in attention, memory, and mental clarity—perfect for days when you need to be on your game. This same study also found that people who had bigger increases in blood lactate tended to show more improvement in attention. Over weeks and months, these benefits build, supporting long-term brain health and resilience.

A big reason? HIIT increases BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor)—a key chemical that supports neuroplasticity, learning, brain health, and mood. Higher BDNF levels are linked to better mental health and may help protect against conditions like depression, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder.

For those interested in diving into the research around exercise, cognition, and brain health, I highly recommend reading this article https://www.drstacysims.com/newsletters/articles/posts/why-hiit-is-essential-for-women-body-and-brain-benefits?utm_source=instagram&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=82525_metaad?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=fb-91725&fbclid=IwdGRjcAM4t6FleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHqWPA9AW12b1CBh0Aj0BvD0ST8qgy-yHdyUa0MT6PcNq687ezQUSqJZ7Shgz_aem_jafECBlY—rXjXtzNOiVqA It highlights how some early research suggests that exercise might help reduce brain changes linked to Alzheimer’s and improve conditions like small vessel disease, a common cause of dementia.

So far, studies have mostly looked at how exercise affects gray matter in the brain (like the hippocampus, which is tied to memory). But new research shows exercise may also improve white matter (which helps with brain communication), brain blood flow, and overall brain connectivity. We still don’t fully understand how these changes relate to actual improvements in thinking and memory, but it’s exciting to know that there are more high-quality studies on the way that’ll help answer some of these questions.
