Just about touched down after an astounding whirlwind of a weekend at The Malverns Classic. 9 coaching sessions were eagerly fully booked and delivered by our incredible coaches, Mark and Amanda also known as Apex Cycle Coaching. The children had a great time riding the features and clear progression was seen across each session. With the huge interest and draw generated by the many wooden trail features in our arena, designed and built by genius and club sponsor Nick Howarth of Timberfly Ramps, we got our heads together and decided that with the level of skills that had been displayed by the rippers in the arena that day why not combine the 400mm kicker with the limbo set and host a high jump competition? The word was put out and by the start of the competition there was a queue in excess of 25 rippers ready to battle it out for the crown. Each ripper had a practice run and then straight into sudden death. By the time we were down to the last 2 rippers, they were in need of oxygen for the heights they were hitting ๐
The Steel City Rippers more than held their own across the different racing disciplines, bagging an assortment of hardware. Sadly there were no medals for the number of pints consumed by the parents, although the rate suggests we were going for gold anyway!! ๐ซฃ๐ฅ
All in all, a fantastic weekend was had by young and old and we canโt wait for the next one!! Thank you Si Paton for having us back and to your wonderful team for yet another banger!
We wouldnโt be able to do all of this fantastic stuff without the continued support of our sponsors - THANK YOU!
