We’re pleased to introduce our new High Peak School & Sport Partnership logo – a refreshed identity that reflects who we are, what we stand for, and the communities we work with across the High Peak.

After 17 years with our previous logo, we felt the time was right for a refresh. In truth, it’s something we’ve been talking about for a number of years! If we’re honest, we think Dawn was probably a little too attached to the old logo to let it go and despite plenty of discussions over the years, the team could never quite agree on a replacement. With a helping hand from good old AI, lots of ideas, and plenty of healthy debate, we’ve finally landed on a design that everyone is genuinely happy with.

We think it feels modern and forward-looking whilst still representing exactly who we are, what we do, and the communities we proudly serve across the High Peak. Hopefully you’ll like it as much as we do.

The design has been created to be modern, simple, and recognisable, while still capturing the energy and purpose behind our work.

What the logo represents:

The Peak landscape:
The mountain-inspired shape reflects the High Peak area and our strong connection to local schools, communities, and outdoor activity.

Movement and progress:
The flowing pathways and curves represent movement, active lifestyles, participation, and the journeys young people take through sport, education, and wellbeing.

People at the centre:
The green circle symbolises people and community – placing children and young people at the heart of everything we do.

Health, wellbeing and opportunity:
The blue and green colour palette reflects wellbeing, growth, trust, energy, and the outdoors – values that are central to our partnership.

Why we like it:
We wanted a logo that felt:
* Clean and professional
* Easy to recognise
* Modern and forward-looking
* Flexible across digital, print, kit, and signage
* Strongly connected to our local identity

Its simplicity makes it easy to use across all platforms while still carrying a strong message about activity, aspiration, inclusion, and community connection.
Most importantly, the logo reflects our continued ambition to inspire healthier, happier and more active lives for young people across the High Peak.

While our logo may have changed, our commitment remains exactly the same – to support schools, create opportunities for young people and work alongside our communities to improve health, wellbeing, participation and achievement through physical activity and sport.

We hope you like it as much as we do and that it serves as a strong visual representation of the work we continue to deliver across the High Peak.

A huge THANK YOU to Hannah at Peak Athletics for donating a whole rafter of trophies for our events! 🏆✨ We absolutely love them and can’t wait to hand them out.

The only problem is… Scott seems to think he should be taking one home! 😂 He reckons he deserves a special award for surviving Lisa and Dawn.

Sorry, Scott… we’re fairly certain we’re the ones who should be collecting that trophy! 🤣

Thanks again, Hannah – your generosity means so much and will help make our events even more special. 💙

We’re delighted to be working in partnership with Ride & Shine to bring even more cycling opportunities to children and young people across the High Peak.

We’re excited to see this expanded Bikeability pathway help more pupils build confidence, develop lifelong cycling skills and discover the many benefits of getting active on two wheels. 🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️

👇 Check out the full programme below.

Exciting news from Ride & Shine and High Peak School & Sport Partnership (HPSSP).

We're thrilled to launch our complete Bikeability pathway for the next academic year, bringing an even wider range of cycling opportunities to primary and secondary schools across the High Peak.

Whether a child is taking their very first glide on a balance bike, learning to ride, building confidence in the playground or progressing to riding on local roads, we'll have a programme to support them every step of the way.

Our expanded offer includes:

🟢 Balance Bike sessions (Early Years)
🔵 Learn to Ride (all ages)
🟡 Bikeability Level 1
🟠 Bikeability Level 2
🔴 Bikeability Level 3
🔧 Bikeability Fix – helping keep bikes safe, roadworthy and ready to ride.

Our vision is simple: every young person should have the opportunity to experience the freedom, fun and independence that cycling can bring.

By developing confidence and lifelong cycling skills, we're helping children become more active, travel more independently and enjoy all the physical and mental wellbeing benefits that riding a bike offers.

A huge thank you to High Peak School & Sport Partnership (HPSSP) for their continued support.

We're looking forward to working with schools across the High Peak and welcoming even more young people onto our Bikeability programmes in the year ahead.

Here's to another fantastic year of inspiring the next generation of cyclists! 🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️

A trophy, a legacy and a whole lot of smiles!

Today marked the exciting finale of our third annual Primary School Bowling Initiative, with children from four local primary schools coming together at the wonderful Manor Park Bowling Club after weeks of coaching at both Glossop Bowling Club and Manor Park.

Over the course of the programme, pupils have discovered a new sport, developed new skills and experienced the pride of representing their school in a fun, welcoming and supportive environment.

This initiative is about so much more than learning to bowl. It’s about opening doors to new experiences, helping children grow in confidence, work together, persevere, celebrate success and discover strengths they may never have known they had. Watching children flourish over the weeks, encouraging one another and leaving each session with bigger smiles than when they arrived has once again highlighted the incredible impact that sport can have.

One of the programme’s greatest strengths is the fantastic intergenerational partnership between our young people and the dedicated volunteers from both bowling clubs. Their patience, encouragement, expertise and generosity in giving up their time have created an environment where children have felt valued, supported and inspired. These connections between generations are every bit as important as the bowling itself.

The winning school was proudly presented with the Dave Collier Trophy - named in honour of a true champion of junior crown green bowling. Dave dedicated so much of his time to creating opportunities for young people to enjoy the sport and it feels especially fitting that this initiative continues to inspire the next generation in his name. Every year this trophy is awarded, it serves as a lasting reminder that his passion and commitment continue to make a difference to children today.

A special thank you also to the Mayor for taking the time to join us for today’s finale. It was wonderful to have her support as she watched the competition with such enthusiasm before presenting the medals, certificates and the prestigious Dave Collier Trophy. Her presence helped make the occasion even more memorable for all of the children and celebrated their achievements in a truly fitting way.

Now in its third year, this initiative continues to grow from strength to strength, building on previous successes and creating even more opportunities for children in the area.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone at Glossop Bowling Club at North Road and Manor Park Bowling Club, our incredible volunteers, the participating schools and, most importantly, every child who embraced the challenge with such enthusiasm, positivity and determination.

If today’s finale has inspired you or someone in your family to give bowls a try, we’d encourage you to contact Glossop Bowling Club or Manor Park Bowling Club directly. You’ll receive a warm welcome and discover a sport that can be enjoyed for life.

Dave Collier’s legacy lives on—not just through a trophy, but through every child who leaves the green with newfound confidence, friendships and a love of the game. 💚
