Just heard some guy on Facebook say the greatest self defence option is to run away. That's not self defence, it's track and field. I would rank it more like avoid, deescalate, if possible escape, followed by extreme violence...

Running away has too many variables, which is to say nothing of personal pride, integrity and keeping loved ones safe...
