‼️FOOTBALL’S WORST KEPT SECRET‼️

After an unforgettable season, our team will be moving to a new club for the upcoming season.

The boys have had the privilege of playing in a stadium, wearing the badge of a historic club, and creating memories that will stay with them for years to come. They have achieved so much together, becoming MYSL Champions and reaching the County Cup Final, only narrowly missing out on penalties.

However, grassroots football is about far more than stadiums, badges or trophies. It is about friendships, trust, development and creating an environment where young players can enjoy the game with the people who have helped them grow on and off the pitch.

Over the last year, this group has become much more than a football team. They have become a family. Together, players, coaches and parents built something special, something based on commitment, loyalty and genuine care for one another.

Unfortunately, there are times when decisions are made that change the direction and culture of what has been built. While that has been difficult for many to accept, it has also made us reflect on what matters most. For us, that will always be the boys, their friendships and their enjoyment of football.

The relationship between the boys and their coaches has been earned and the players have made it clear that they want to continue that journey together.

We would like to thank everyone at AVRO FC for believing in this group from the very beginning. From our first conversations, they have welcomed us, supported our vision and given the boys an exciting opportunity to continue their development together. Their backing and enthusiasm have given us confidence that this is the right next step for the team.

We leave with great memories, proud of everything we achieved, and grateful to everyone who played a positive part in the journey.

Most importantly, we move forward together.

The badge may change, but the team remains.

🏆 MYSL CHAMPIONS CUP 🏆

As ever we made this final hard work for ourselves 🫣

Another penalty shoot out but this time 5/5 and another cracking save from our Number 1️⃣ Eddie. League winners and Cup Champions 🎉

Whilst winning the cup is always a fab result, what impressed us today was the respect our boys once again showed the opposition. Applauding whilst they received their medals and remaining respectful on and off the pitch. Sportsmanship is just as important to us as silverware and our boys showed real class today 👏🏼👏🏼

Thank you to Billy and all at MYSL for hosting another top final and never scrimping on the medals or trophies 🙌🏼

As our first season comes to an end, we'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey.

🤾‍♂️Firstly, to our players. Thank you for your commitment, effort, determination and teamwork throughout the season. You've made us proud every step of the way and have created memories that will last a lifetime.

🧑🧓To all our parents, families and supporters, thank you for the early mornings, cold weekends, lifts to training and matches, apres-footie drinks and your unwavering support from the sidelines. Grassroots football simply wouldn't happen without you.

⚽️A massive thank you to our coaching team – Lee, Marcin, Ben and Pete. The countless hours you dedicate to training, match days and supporting the boys both on and off the pitch never go unnoticed. Your passion and commitment have helped create something truly special.

📝To our amazing admin team – Gaz, Christy, Lisa, Steph and Ashleigh – thank you for everything you do behind the scenes. From registrations and communications,sorting refs, trophies, and all the jobs that keep the team running smoothly, your hard work is invaluable.

🏆Manchester FA County Cup Final 🏆

Today we faced the current holders, Old Trafford, in the Manchester FA County Cup Final.

Going into the game, many expected us to be second best. Old Trafford had reached the final in style, winning their semi-final 6-2, and arrived confident of retaining their crown.

What followed was a display of determination, organisation, and heart from our lads. For the full match we matched the holders every step of the way, keeping them at bay and creating a contest that finished 0-0 after full time.

Unfortunately, football can be cruel. The final was decided by penalties, and despite giving absolutely everything, we fell just short. Our Keeper Eddie pulling out two fantastic saves still wasn’t enough.

While we didn’t bring the trophy home, every player should be incredibly proud. To take the reigning champions all the way to penalties shows just how far this team has come in less than a year.

What makes today’s performance even more remarkable is everything these boys have had to overcome this season. There have been challenges, setbacks and distractions along the way, but they never stopped believing in each other. They stayed together, kept working hard and represented this club with pride.

Congratulations to Old Trafford on retaining the cup.

As for us, this isn’t the end of the story. We’ve already started strengthening for next season and today’s performance has only reinforced what we already know – this group is building something special. Next year we’ll be bringing the cake and champers 🥳

We hope today’s performance sends a clear message about where this team is heading next season and what these lads are capable of.

Heads held high. The future is bright. 💙⚽

Busy couple of weeks coming up for the lads, starting here ⬇️

We take on Trafford FC @ Gigg. A win hands us the MYSL 2.0 League Trophy and we remain unbeaten 🙌🏼 We are already guaranteed a top two finish which is incredible 🏆

With the season end drawing nigh we will be soaking up every minute of it. Already league champions of the best grassroots league around, county cup finalists and within touching distance of another league trophy 💙🤍

But most of all, the bonds between these lads and their families is second to none. The respect these boys show their coaches, team mates and opposition, they deserve everything they have achieved so far and then some…. 🙌🏼 😎
