I completed the L1 and L2 courses and they are really great. Cannot recommend them enough. Ideal for students at the end of school who need a path to contribute to their cycling development...

Please share with any youth or junior riders, parents, coaches or club members who may not know about DiSE — the Diploma in Sporting Excellence.
DiSE is a British Cycling programme, delivered in partnership with SGS College ROADSTARZ.
It is a performance development programme for young cyclists who are serious about improving as athletes.
DiSE is designed for riders who are already training and racing, and who want to learn how to prepare, perform and progress more like elite-level cyclists.
This is not just another school or college course.
DiSE helps riders accelerate their athletic development, while also gaining a recognised Level 3 qualification worth 64 UCAS points.
The programme supports riders with key areas of performance, including:
✅ training and competition planning
✅ nutrition and recovery
✅ strength, conditioning and injury prevention
✅ race craft, tactics and performance analysis
✅ psychology, confidence and mindset
✅ lifestyle skills, communication and professionalism
✅ understanding what it takes to progress in the sport
DiSE runs alongside your normal post-16 education, such as A Levels, BTEC, T Levels or an apprenticeship.
It is best suited to aspiring riders, not recreational riders. You do not have to already be on the British Cycling Talent Pathway, but you do need to be committed, motivated and ready to take responsibility for your development.
The SGS College ROADSTARZ DiSE programme is a particularly exciting option.
It is the only DiSE cycling programme that offers entirely remote delivery meaning riders can access the programme from anywhere in the country without needing to relocate or change college.
The programme also includes an annual altitude training camp in Tenerife, giving riders the chance to experience a more professional training environment and learn how serious athletes prepare, train and recover.
So, if you are doing your GCSEs this year, or you are already in your first year as a junior rider, this could be a brilliant opportunity to take your cycling more seriously, develop as an athlete and gain a qualification at the same time.
