🏆💚 CUP FINAL CHAMPIONS! 💚🏆

What a way to finish the season for our Ramsbottom U15s!

The U15s headed into their second cup final of a hugely successful summer, taking on Woodhouses U15s in the Hundred-format final, superbly hosted by Heywood Cricket Club.

Ramsbottom won the toss and elected to bowl, and the boys produced an outstanding bowling and fielding display. Woodhouses finished on 106/5 from their 100 balls, managing just four boundaries on Heywood’s large outfield.

Mahdi Abbas – 1/21

Ramsbottom got off to a positive start in the chase, but at 30/2, Mahdi was joined by Thomas Dowds and the pair showed incredible maturity, putting together a 72-run partnership.

Both players retired after reaching 40, a brilliant way to sign off their U15 junior cricket careers.

Three quick wickets left Rammy needing 2 runs from the final 5 balls.
A leg bye levelled the scores before Ethan smashed the winning runs through mid-wicket to seal a fantastic victory!

And fittingly, Mahdi Abbas was named Player of the Match, as decided by the umpires on the day.

We couldn’t be prouder of this group. A fantastic achievement and a brilliant reward for all their hard work throughout the season.

A huge thank you to Heywood Cricket Club for their fantastic hospitality and to the GMCL for organising such a brilliant occasion.

🏏 U11 Match Report | Ramsbottom CC vs Walshaw CC 🏏

A tough one for our U11s this week, who fell just short against Walshaw CC, losing by 10 runs.

After winning the toss and choosing to field, the boys produced an outstanding bowling display to restrict Walshaw to 95/7.

Harry Huntington starred with a superb 3/1 from 2 overs, while Abdullah Qamar claimed 2/7.
Wickets for Charlie Hall and Luke Whitworth capped off a disciplined team performance.

In reply, Rammy finished on 85/7. Fynlo Alcock and Charlie Hall top-scored with 8 runs apiece, with useful contributions from Freddie Faulkner and Harry King.

A few unfortunate run outs proved costly in what was a closely fought contest, but there were plenty of positives to take away. The effort, attitude and bowling performance were first class, and the boys will be looking to bounce back in the next group game. 💚🐏

🏏 Under 13s Match Report | Ramsbottom CC vs Worsley CC 💚

A tough result on the scoreboard, but plenty to be proud of from our Under 13s last week.

After restricting Worsley CC to 121/6, the lads showed fantastic energy in the field with wickets shared between Abdullah, George, Jack, Jenson and Freddie, plus a brilliant stumping from Max and a superb catch by Fynlo.

Chasing 122, Ramsbottom battled hard to finish on 82/6, with Noha leading the way with an excellent 30 runs, including 4 fours. 👏

Every player gave their all and there are plenty of positives to take into the next game.
Well played to both teams on a great game of cricket! 💚🏏
