To all Members:

Following the recent Government announcement, all British Wheelchair Basketball (BWB) sanctioned activity in the UK is now suspended with the exception of the Elite Performance Programme (under the Return to Elite Training framework); this is effective immediately.

As this continues to be a period of uncertainty for us all, BWB is working hard to access and understand new government guidance as and when it is issued.

BWB has taken the decision to withdraw the Return to Play Matrix and Guidance Documents during this period of lockdown, as undoubtedly they will both need reviewing and updating when the sport is able to return to courts. BWB has removed the documents from its website, and issued a note that these documents are no longer active.

When we are able to return, BWB will issue an updated Return to Play Matrix and Guidance Documents as well as scheduling training to go through any updates and changes with COVID-19 Officers and Club Contacts.

Following BWB’s recent release of Stage 1 of its Return to Play guidance the Club committee agreed that, due to the numerous restrictions contained within the document, weekly Club sessions could not re-commence yet and are unlikely to start again this year. However, if the situation changes significantly, then the committee may reconsider this decision.

Stay safe, keep well and we look forward to seeing you in person as soon as Club is allowed to recommence.
