Let's talk about inclusion and returning to training.
Now obviously if the mats are busy then the babies wouldnt be on the mats. For quieter evenings its the perfect opportunity to get them used to being on them.
Let's start with inclusion.
Inclusion isnt just "allowing" someone to occupy space on the mats.
Its about making sure that space is utilised in the best way for that student and works for them.
Here we have DBN Jenny on her wobble stool, Returning to class after a double hip operation.
Wobble stools enable her to come back to class and go through her movements to ensure her memory stays strong and allows her to move gently whilst being supported by the seat. In turn this ensures through gentle movements that her recovery is good.
Dbn only ever does what she feels she can during this period as only she knows how much she can do.
Returning to training.
Returning to gentle training 8 weeks after giving birth to twins we have KSN Naomi. We all know how hard pregnancy is on a woman's body however having trained over the the last 13 years has ensured a quick return after the 6 week check.
We need to take into account that Naomis core will need time to ensure good balance and posture so we are starting from the bottom up again.
Low focused kicks, gentle stretching and warm ups, nothing too strenuous for both of these ladies untill they feel able.
I wouldnt normally recommend any babies on the mats for insurance reasons tho as these babies belong to us we have full control and sometimes having something in your arms helps you to focus on your movements a little more than normal.
