FC Farsley Women travelled to Sheffield to take on promotion chasing Handsworth Ladies on the final day of the 25/26 season.

Huge congratulations to all the girls on winning the Farsley derby. What a fantastic way to end 2025. Being joint top of Division 1 is a brilliant achievement and a real credit to everyone’s hard work. There’s still a lot of work ahead, but let’s keep the momentum going into 2026.

We have a few spaces available in the squad. We are looking for Year 10 and 11 girls to join our friendly, welcoming team. We currently compete in the West Riding Girls League Division 1 and are looking for a few extra players to help us progress.

Huge well done to the team for giving it their all on a freezing Saturday morning, especially with us carrying so many illnesses and injuries at the moment.

We got off to a slow start, going 2–0 down within the first 20 minutes. The team responded brilliantly, grabbing a goal just before half-time to make it 2–1 (through Paris). We began the second half on the front foot and equalised only minutes after the restart (through Lola). We then began to control the game, managing to get our noses in front after Ellie latched onto a through ball to make it 3–2. Brighouse rallied and grabbed an equaliser. With the game finely poised at 3–3, a penalty was awarded after a fracas in the box, which Niamh converted. We held onto the 4–3 lead until the final whistle.

Huge congratulations to the whole team for a brilliant performance on a freezing cold morning at Stanningley Park.
