ISKA World Championships 2026 โ Madrid ๐ช๐ธ
Iโm incredibly proud to officially announce that I have been appointed as a National Coach for Team England Ringsports for the coming year, leading up to the ISKA World Championships taking place in Madrid in November 2026.
As we move toward the end of the year, I believe one of the most valuable things we can give our fighters is direction โ a clear goal that brings structure, focus and purpose to their training.
In ๐ก๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐บ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฒ, the ๐๐ฆ๐๐ ๐ช๐ผ๐ฟ๐น๐ฑ ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐บ๐ฝ๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ต๐ถ๐ฝ๐ will take place in Madrid, bringing together amateur fighters from across the world to compete on a truly global stage.
Over the coming months, weโll be beginning the process of ๐๐ป๐ด๐น๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฅ๐ถ๐ป๐ด๐๐ฝ๐ผ๐ฟ๐๐ ๐ฆ๐พ๐๐ฎ๐ฑ ๐๐ฒ๐น๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ and structured ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐บ ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐ถ๐ป๐ด, with the aim of developing a strong, well-prepared team to represent our country.
This pathway not only opens the doors for students to achieve their dreams of success on a World Stage but offers so many more benefits for fighters, coaches and Martial Arts schools alike.
For coaches, it offers a powerful end-of-year focus โ something that helps keep students ๐ฒ๐ป๐ด๐ฎ๐ด๐ฒ๐ฑ, ๐ฐ๐ผ๐บ๐บ๐ถ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ด๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ถ๐๐ต ๐ถ๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ป๐. For fighters, it provides a longer-term target that encourages ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ถ๐๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐, ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ผ๐๐ป๐๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ด๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐๐ต, both on and off the mats.
This year, Iโm grateful to be working alongside an ๐ผ๐๐๐๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ด๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ฝ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ก๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ผ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฒ๐ who will be hosting selections and squad training across the country, making the pathway accessible while maintaining high standards throughout:

The ๐๐ฆ๐๐ ๐ช๐ผ๐ฟ๐น๐ฑ ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐บ๐ฝ๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ต๐ถ๐ฝ๐ are a true test.
Ring sport disciplines are contested over 3 x 2 minute rounds, and mat sports over 2 x 1.5 / 2 x 2, against some of the strongest national teams in the world.
The experience challenges fighters technically, physically and mentally โ and the preparation process itself is where the biggest development happens.
Weโll be hosting ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ด๐๐น๐ฎ๐ฟ ๐๐พ๐๐ฎ๐ฑ ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ฒ๐น๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐๐ฒ๐๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐, focused not just on performance, but on raising standards, sharing knowledge and supporting long-term fighter and coach development.
