🔔 Important Update: Sound Moderators – Legal & Ordering Changes

Following recent legislative updates under the Crime and Policing Act 2026 (effective 30/06/26), there have been changes to how sound moderators are classified and processed.

Below is a clear summary of what’s changed, what remains the same, and what you need to do when ordering.

🔹 What’s Changed
No certificate slot required
You no longer need an available slot on your Firearm or Shotgun Certificate to purchase a moderator.
No certificate endorsement
Moderators will no longer be entered onto your paper certificate.
Direct-to-home delivery available
Approved moderators can now be ordered online and delivered directly to your home address via courier, removing the need for RFD transfers or collection points.
🔹 What Hasn’t Changed
Valid certificate still required
You must hold a current FAC or SGC to purchase or possess a sound moderator. Verification is still required before dispatch.
Secure storage remains in place
All stock continues to be stored in line with Home Office security requirements.
Full record keeping maintained
We continue to keep detailed acquisition and disposal records for full compliance and audit purposes.
🔹 How to Order Online

To keep things simple, we now use a straightforward verification process:

Place your order online as normal
Email a clear photo or scan of your valid FAC or SGC to [email protected]

Please ensure your certificate details match your order information. Once verified, your order will be dispatched directly to you.
