Welcome to Dunstall CC's 2026 Season Landmarks.

The first entrant into this year's Season Landmarks is the G.O.A.T of Dunstall. James Benstead had an incredible year with bat and ball on his return to the 1XI, not only surpassing personal landmarks but also massively contributed to the 1XI winning the division and returning back to Division 1.

With the bat, James scored 820 runs in the season, including 7 50s and 1 💯, with a high score of 107* and averaged 63.08. Due to this, he surpassed 15,000 runs for the 1XI and 17,000 runs for the club overall (from Play Cricket stats)

With the ball, he took 41 wickets with best figures of 6/19. James also passed a third landmark this season as he surpassed 250 wickets for the club.

Another outstanding season by an extraordinary player and we can't wait to see how much more he can add to his tallies.

STAG OF THE WEEK GW22

The final SOTW of 2026 always sees double points for each vote.

The 1XI SOTW sees keeper Dan Wildman take top spot. The keeper/batter has been in good form towards the end of the season and totalled up 24 points after scoring 34. A tie for 2nd saw Dan Welch and Monty Cowgill score 18 points each. Dan scored 34 runs whilst Monty scored 30 before rain abandoned the game.

The 2XI SOTW saw a tie for 1st as skipper Archie Chambers and Corey Perera shared the spoils with 18 points each. Archie scored 22 and took 2-37 whilst Corey hit 19 and took 1-39. Moeez Iqbal finished 3rd with 14 points after top scoring with 28.

The 3XI SOTW was Ben Wilson. He picked up 48 points after taking 4-61 and hitting 85*. Baden Cutler came 2nd with 20 points after taking 3-18 and Jamie Wagstaff finished the top 3 with 18 points after a knock of 60.

GAMEWEEK 22

The final weekend saw 2 abandoned games and 1 loss

The 2XI were the only team to complete their final game through the rain. With nothing to play for for either team, the lads had a bat first. A few starts at the top of the order with Moeez top scoring with 28. The ball began to nip around on the tricky surface and wickets began to tumble. The tail wagged slightly as Corey and Nelly put on the highest partnership of 35 and 150 was posted. Thoughts were that with early breakthroughs, the total could be defendable and when Corey dismissed the dangerous Jordan for just 17 and Faiz picked up another early after, the belief grew. However the rain started to fall and the ball became a bar of soap. Archie managed to grab a couple of breakthroughs and Nelly picked up another but the total was surpassed in the 24th over. A 3rd place finish was a great success.

The 1XI got half a game in before being abandoned. Batting first, the middle order all contributed as Welch and Wildman both scored 34 and Monty hit a run a ball 30. 189 was posted and the hosts managed to get in 15 overs of bowling before the conditions got too much, ending in 10 points a side and the lads got to enjoy lifting the Division 2 trophy earlier than anticipated. A deserved achievement for their hard work to return to Division 1.

The 3XI came within 15 runs of victory before the game got abandoned. Chellaston batted first and got to learn Ben Wilson's name very well by the end. Despite not bowling much this season, Ben took 4-61 and Baden continued his form with 3-18. Chasing 211, Ben reached his 1000 run for the season milestone with another red inker, hitting 85*. Waggy also hit a half century, ending on 60. Unfortunately the rain came too soon and the lads finished 15 short of victory.

Our final teams of the 2026 season are in.

Unfortunately, the 4XI have had to concede their final game through no fault of their own. The pitch has been deemed unsuitable due to the recent weather by JTFS and with no other ground available for use, their season has been cut short.
