I have been selling some ECB women's kit to raise funds for our nets project. Only a few items left and now at a reduced price. Blue, long-sleeved ODI top, size 10, now £12; Blue sleeveless ODI top, size 12, now £8; Red, long-sleeved ODI top, size 6, now £12; two training vests (Cinch), size S and M, now £8.

WOW… what a response! 👏

Thanks to the incredible support from our players, families, friends, local community and everyone who has backed the project, we’ve now reached:

🔥 £4,477 RAISED! 🔥

🎯 Target: £10,000
🙌 Supporters: 24
⏳ Time remaining: 18 DAYS

That means we’re almost HALFWAY there! 💪

But we’re not stopping now…

Our goal is to build a two-lane, all-weather practice facility at the Actionclad Ground, giving our juniors, girls, ladies and senior players somewhere to train throughout the year — whatever the British weather throws at us! 🌧️☀️🏏

It will mean: 🏏 Better training facilities
🌧️ No more losing sessions to bad weather
💪 More opportunities for coaching and development
👧 More opportunities for girls & ladies cricket
🧒 A better pathway for our juniors
🏘️ A facility that can eventually benefit local schools and the wider community

Big reminder! This Sunday at the Actionclad ground in Hanbury with the first T20 match starting at 11am... featuring Overseas legend Owen Birch and co versus some of D&H's old boys...Adam Hall, Angus Fyfe, Jimmy Ede, Jimmy Cox, Tim "Gap" Watson, Ansar Mahmood and many more....

Laphrisa's Caribbean food truck( CASH ONLY) will be there from 10am and rumour has it they might be doing some breakfast food for those early birds...

We’re on the road to making our new all-weather practice nets at the Actionclad Ground a reality — but we need YOUR help! 🙌

🏏🌴 CARIBBEAN CLASH – SUNDAY 23RD AUGUST 🌴🏏

It’s going to be a very special day at the Actionclad Ground as we welcome our friends from Barbados for a fantastic day of cricket, friendship and Caribbean spirit! 🇧🇧💙

And there’s a little bit of history coming back to Hanbury…

⭐ Owen Birch – overseas legend and one of our much-loved home-grown club heroes – returns to the ground with his fellow Bajans!

We’ve got two very different games lined up:

🏏 GAME 1 – THE CLASSIC SQUAD
A team packed with familiar faces and old D&H favourites, including:

🔥 Angus Fyfe
🔥 Adam Hall
🔥 Jimmy Cox
🔥 James Ede
🔥 Ansar Mahmood
🔥 Tim Watson

…and a few special guests!

They’ll be led by current 1st XI veteran Simon Ashmore, as the old guard dusts off the whites for one more run out! 😎

🇧🇧 GAME 2 – THE NEXT GENERATION
A showcase of exciting young talent from Barbados and the UK, bringing together the future stars of the game in what promises to be some fantastic cricket. The D&H side will be led by 1st XI skipper Shaun Rashid, former professional and England over 40s player.

This isn’t just about the cricket.

It’s a day to celebrate friendship, sportsmanship, community and everything that makes cricket clubs special. ❤️🏏

🍻 Bar open all day
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family-friendly atmosphere
🇧🇧 Barbados touring team & supporters joining us

And most importantly, the day is helping us raise funds towards our new state-of-the-art net facility – something that will benefit the club and our juniors for years to come.

We are hosting the East Midlands section of The Forty Club tomorrow, the world's largest wandering cricket club.

It's an early start at 11am but looks like it will be a good day with a couple of Eng over 40s players taking the pitch.

Come along and support if you're at a loose end and fancy a cold drink...the bar as always will be open and the BBQ will be on afterwards.
