George Smith win the any gender multi tee Stableford played today with 35 points off a playing handicap of 32.

Dan Wilkes (33 off three) was second and James Wilkinson (33 off two) third.

15 players took part; there were no disqualifications; and two players - Dan and Tim Gilpin - recorded twos.

Andy Bates's 42 points off a playing handicap of 13 won him the gents' Devitt Cup today.

Preston Dunmore (36 off seven) was second and Richard Odell (35 off five) third.

46 players took part; there were no disqualifications; and two players - Kevin Hall and Simon Lamb - recorded twos.

Congratulations to Simon Lamb, Pete Doughty, Kevin Denver, and Tony Butlin: winners of the four divisions in the any gender multi tee Stableford played yesterday to mark the retirement of Steve Hadfield as a teaching professional at Branston.

Division one: Simon 36 points off a playing handicap of 11; Max Atkin 36 off four; Jack Wilcock 36 off 12.

Division two: Pete 35 points off 13; Chris Ewart 34 off 15; Steve Wilkinson 34 off 14.

Division three: Kevin 40 points off 16; Kevin Hall 37 off 17; Gavin Parker 36 off 19.

Division four: Tony 34 off 27; Jill Doyle 31 points off; Ian Bonner 31 off 21.

88 players entered scores; there were two disqualifications; and ten players - Jack, Max, Joe Docksey (twice), Simon, Mark Paxton, Chris, Dan Smith, George Cowley, and Matt Ferguson - recorded twos.

A 74 from Chris Rippon was the lowest gross score recorded.

Congratulations to Charlotte Barker (pictured with Wendy Woollett and Lady Captain), winning today’s Woollett Crystal Cup with 32 points playing off 31.

In the runners-up spot, Mo Winfer (31 points off 35) was 2 points clear of Margaret Wright in third.

19 ladies played and no twos were recorded.

Just to confirm, the two any gender Stablefords being played this weekend are two separate competitions, not one alternate day competition.

This means that players can enter and play in both competitions, should they wish to. (RCH)

Double congratulations to Chris Ewart after his win in the Greenacre Trophy at the weekend: he first won that competition back in 2001.

25 years between wins of the same trophy is not a record at Branston though: Pete Doughty won the August Vase in 1998 and then again in 2025! (RCH)

Congratulations to Derek Wood: winner of yesterday's seniors' Autumn Trophy with 38 points.

The divisional winners were Ian Simpson (37), Ray Holder (33), and Alec Stewart (33). (RCH)

Saturday's any gender Stableford has been named in honour of Steve Hadfield, who retired at the end of July after 15 years coaching at Branston and more than 40 years in golf.

All the entry fees from the competition will be gifted to Steve, with prizes paid from members' funds held by the Main Committee.
