This is a family orientated club, with students ranging from novice to Black Belt

We teach traditional Jujitsu and self-defence in a friendly, safe and supportive environment.

CLUB SESSION CANCELLATION - TODAY TUESDAY 2ND JUNE 2026

As you are probably aware the room we use for our Dojo is having a new floor put down.

I visited the Sports Centre today to check on the progress and unfortunately they have only just started laying the new floor so it will not be ready until at least tomorrow.

Our mats are in the storeroom and cannot be accessed to
enable us to use another room.

Therefore, we have no alternative but to cancel our Club Session this evening.

I am sorry about the late notice but I have only just been made aware of the situation.

We are prepared to put on another session on Thursday night, 4th June, 2026 the same times 7pm to 8.30pm

The Club will be closed on SATURDAY, 23rdMAY, 2026, due to it being the Bank Holiday weekend. History has shown that most students have family commitments during this period.

The Club will re-open 7pm TUESDAY, 26th MAY, 2026.

VISITING INSTRUCTORS - 9th MAY, 2026

The Club re-opens on SATURDAY, 9th MAY, 2026, after the Bank Holiday and local elections break. We are pleased to announce we will have the honour and pleasure of two visiting Instructors from the BJJKO, Hanshi Mike Rowan 10th Dan and Sensei Lee Nelson 6th Dan.
They bring with them a wealth of experience as anyone who has had the pleasure of attending Courses or Sessions run by them will know.

This is an ideal opportunity to enhance and develop your martial arts knowledge. Be sure you do not miss the experience.

BANK HOLIDAY AND ELECTION CLOSURES

The Club will be closed on Saturday, 2nd May, 2026, due to it being the Bank Holiday weekend. Most students have family commitments during this period and are unable to train.

In addition the Club session on Tuesday, 5th May, 2026, has had to be cancelled due to the Sports Centre being used for the local elections. Unfortunately this is beyond our control.

The Club will re-open at 10am on SATURDAY, 9th MAY, 2026.
We look forward to seeing everyone again.

BRITISH JU JITSU AND KOBUDO BLACK BELT GRADINGS.

On Saturday, 21st March, 2026, the B.J.J.K.O. held their Black Belt Gradings at Winsford.
Two members of Burscough Ju Jitsu Club were among the students taking their grades. We are pleased to say they were both successful and were awarded their grades.
Sensei Steve Barrett was awarded his 4th Dan
Sensei David Allan was awarded his 3rd Dan.
Congratulations to them both on an excellent achievement.
A big thank you to all the Club Instructors who helped prepare them for their grade, and to Sensei Tony Allan and Sensei Ian Stringman for being the Uke for the day.
