A YEAR OF FOOTY ZONE FC 💚💛⚽️
12 months ago, Footy Zone FC was two friends and two teams. Today, 11 teams and more than 120 players wear the badge across East Lancashire and Greater Manchester.
What started as helping our own teams and players develop has grown into something neither of us could have expected.
Our ambition has always been to provide high-level coaching, challenge players to improve and give them opportunities to take their football as far as their ability and hard work can take them.
As a Community Interest Company (CIC), money generated through Footy Zone is reinvested into coaching, equipment, facilities and player development. This helps us raise standards while keeping quality coaching accessible to local families.
Our sessions are led by UEFA-qualified coaches, supported by coaches with semi-professional playing experience.
This year we've established our own indoor training facility in Burnley, providing a dedicated environment for 1-to-1 and small-group development.
Our relationship with Burnley College has been another huge step. Their 3G pitch is now our home ground, with players benefiting from nutrition and Strength & Conditioning support. There's also a potential pathway into the College's education and football programme, with opportunities that could extend to scholarships in America.⚽️
We're proud to have helped several players access professional academy trials, with several going on to earn contracts through their own ability, attitude and hard work.
But development isn't defined by academy contracts alone. It's seeing players improve technically, grow in confidence, understand the game and continually challenge themselves.
And we're still building. Monday night SAQ sessions are now underway, with our new U7–U9 Technical Training launching at Burnley College on Tuesday 1st September.
