An amazing day back at Forresters Park Golf on March 18th 2022 and the weather came to the party too.

23 LOOPPPERS came together for a day of bacon, golf, ham, egg, chips and a catch up.

The regulars were back and some new faces too and it was the new faces that took event trophies with Michael Smalldon triumphant on the day with an amazing 44 points, next was a 3 way tie on 38 points and on countback this went to Phil Smith and Rob Lee, runner up and third. Loosing out in the countback was Rik James who finished fourth.

Other scores of note, impressive 37 playing of 9 for Gary Cattermole and playing of 15 for Peter Farrow, 36 from Mike Hayes and Grant Sharpe and a few players then on 35 and 34.

Longest drive went to Andy Warner with a corker on the 16th and nearest the pin Paul Sayer on the difficult 9th.

Pics attached of all the fourball teams except the last ones out Andy Warner, Rob Wood and Nigel Claydon.

Thanks again to all the players for their support and to Forrester Park Golf & Country Club for their welcome.... great day... and the weather too.

If you are or where a Table Tennis player and you want to be involved, DM us on our page… and until next time….

Looking forward to Friday one and all, a time to catch up with friends old and new and just found a couple of pics that might bring back some memories to some...

If you got a pic from 'back in the day' add it on this LOOPPPERS page and we can all have a remember about hair... and being awake after 10pm....

We are delighted to have been able to make a contribution to the essential work done by Community360 a local charity which has been established within Colchester since 1968.

They provide fundamental support to voluntary and community organisations in the local area.

The Covid-19 pandemic that hit the country at the beginning of 2020 curtailed the end of the 2019-20 season and we were unable to complete all fixtures though we did hold our annual championships in early March.

We decided rather than award trophies for the incomplete 19-20 season it would be more fitting in the unprecedented circumstances we found ourselves in to make a donation to a local charity.

In the picture League Chairman John Andrews
is presenting the cheque to Shelley Rudling Head of Finance at Community 360. Also in the picture resplendent in hi-viz jacket is League Match Secretary Martyn Green who also works for Community 360.

2020/21 was the first time since the second world war that League Table Tennis did not take place in . We all know why of course and understand why we have not been able to pick up a bat in anger for 8 months.

We are looking forward and planning for a return to play as restrictions are lifted and getting back to playing very soon.
