🏊‍♂️ Masters Swimming at AST continues to grow! 🏊‍♀️

Following feedback from our Masters swimmers, and as part of our ongoing commitment to improving the experience at Academy Swim Team, we’re pleased to confirm that we are opening up an additional Masters swimming opportunity:

📅 Monday mornings
⏰ 5:30am – 7:00am

This gives our adult swimmers even more flexibility to train, whether they are working towards fitness goals, returning to the pool, preparing for competitions, or simply enjoying swimming as part of a friendly and supportive group.

For our existing Pay As You Go Masters swimmers, this session will be available to attend on an ad hoc basis as normal.

For those on a monthly membership, the session can be used as part of your included 2.5 hours per week.

Our Masters programme has gone from strength to strength, with recent success in the pool and a growing number of swimmers joining us. It has been fantastic to see adults of all ages and abilities enjoying the benefits of swimming, training together, and being part of the AST community.

Huge congratulations to one of our fantastic masters swimmers, Micaela Morris, who has been up in Scotland competing at the British Nationals! 🏊‍♂️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Swimming for Gloucester, Micaela put on an absolute masterclass and brought home some truly incredible results across the weekend:

🥇 1st place in the Female 50 Metre Back (with a brilliant -0.59 time improvement!)
🥈 2nd place in the Female 100 Metre Back
🥈 2nd place in the Female 200 Metre Back
🥈 2nd place in the Female 200 Metre Free
🥈 2nd place in the Mixed 800 Metre Free
⭐ 5th place in the Female 400 Metre Free

What an unbelievable achievement on the national stage. Everyone at AST is incredibly proud of you, Micaela!

What a terrific final session at Hengrove to cap off an absolutely fantastic day for the team! 🏊‍♂️✨

From our youngest first-timers to our seasoned racers, every single swimmer gave it their all today. The medal tally, the endless PBs, and the team spirit on display have made the whole club incredibly proud. ❤️🥇⏱️

The success didn't stop in Hengrove either! Huge congratulations to Heidi, who has been competing over at the Forest of Dean & Gloucester meet today and is coming away with some well-deserved medals of her own! 🏅🌟

It has been a truly brilliant day of racing all round for the club. A massive thank you to all the swimmers, coaches, team managers, and officials who made it happen. Go AST! 🔴⚪🔵

Session 2 is a wrap at Hengrove, and what a session it was! 🏊‍♂️🌟

This afternoon saw our brilliant 8-year-olds taking to the pool, with some of them racing for the very first time ever. They did themselves and the club absolutely proud! ❤️

The momentum just kept going with even more medals won, more fantastic PBs smashed, and massive smiles all round. 😊🥇⏱️

Huge congratulations to all our swimmers who stepped up this afternoon, especially our first-timers. You were all amazing! Let's see what the next session brings! 💪🔴⚪🔵

It’s been a smashing start to the City of Bristol/Wells/Backwell Development Meet in Hengrove this morning! 🏊‍♂️✨

We’ve already seen plenty of medals, fantastic PBs, lots of laughs, and some brilliant experiences being had by our swimmers. 🥇⏱️

Weirdly, the team managers aren't taking any pictures of themselves, but a huge thank you to them for being there and supporting everyone! 🙌👏

🎉 Incredible news! 🏊‍♂️✨

We are absolutely thrilled to share that at yesterday's Highbridge and Burnham Town Council grant meeting, AST was awarded a fantastic £1,400!

This amazing funding will go directly towards supporting our swimmers with away competitions, ensuring that cost isn't a barrier and enabling everyone to participate.

A massive thank you to the Town Council for their incredible support, which makes a huge difference to our club and our brilliant swimmers. Let's keep making a splash! 💙🏆

🏊‍♂️🏆 What a day for AST Masters! 🏆🏊‍♀️

A huge congratulations to our Academy Swim Team Masters swimmers who competed at the Somerset & Gloucestershire Masters Championships.

We had 6 AST swimmers in attendance — Lewis P, Lewis D, Emily K, Lauren H, Amelie RW and Matthew F — and every single one of them produced fantastic swims and brilliant results. They showed perfectly that age is absolutely no barrier when it comes to swimming, racing, improving and enjoying the sport.

One of the real highlights of the day was joining forces with Burnham-on-Sea Swimming Club for the cannon event, with Andrew and Daisy helping bring the team up to 8 swimmers. It was a brilliant display of teamwork and a true show of unity between the clubs. 💙

To top off an already fantastic day, Academy Swim Team were awarded the Top Somerset Club Award! 🏆

A massive thank you to Somerset ASA and Gloucestershire ASA for hosting such a great event.

We are already looking forward to returning next year with even more Masters swimmers representing AST! 🙌
