Thank you to Brightlingsea UCSC for hosting a fantastic event yesterday, 1st mass start this season.

All Burnham crews put in a shift, well rowed gang. Congratulations to Wren Men on their 1st place. We all agreed it was great to be doing a mass start and despite the final results being a mixed bag for Burnham, they in no way diminished the efforts of the crews:

Women’s: Wren 5th, Willow 7th
Men: Wren 1st 🥇, Willow 12th
Mixed: Wren DQ, Willow 8th

We look forward to seeing everyone in Burnham on the 22nd March for the final race of the season.

Thank you very much to Wivgigs Rowing Club for hosting Round 7 of the Harker's Yard Gig Association Winter Series yesterday, and we probably wouldn’t of been wetter if we’d actually fallen in the lovely River Colne!

Anyway us Harkers Yard Gig rowers are not made of sugar and we battled on. As in previous visits, this race took the form of time trials with boats starting 2 at a time at 1 minute intervals. The women’s race was first, followed by the Men’s and the Mixed Team.

And BOCCRC hit the podium again in the Men’s and Mixed Team race. Also, a big well done to Women’s Willow crew who got their best result and pipped the Women’s Wren Team by 1 second.

The results are:
Women’s Race: Wren 7th, Willow 6th
Men’s Race: Wren 1st 🥇Willow 9th
Mixed Race: Wren 3rd 🥉 Willow 13th

Many thanks to the organisers and hosts for all their hard work, we had a smashing time and look forward to seeing everyone at our Burnham event on Sunday 15th February.

Just 19 days to go and £175 left to raise on our crowd funder for a floating dock.

BOCCRC is a community club that aims to get local people out on our beautiful river, for fresh air, exercise and friendship.

Thank you so much to everyone that has donated, it goes to show that the community spirit is very much alive and well in Burnham, now let’s get us over that finish line 🚣‍♀️🚣‍♀️🚣‍♀️

Our aim is to purchase a floating dock to store one of our rowing boats. It will make it easier for our older members.

Fab day at the races yesterday with Round 6 of Harker's Yard Gig Association Winter Series.

After a chilly Maldon race a couple of weeks ago it was positively balmy in Wivenhoe yesterday. Well done to all at Wivenhoe Corsairs Rowing Club, great course and very well organised, enjoyed the commentary from the balcony too.

So to the results and very pleased to say all BOCCRC crews turned up nicely with both boats giving a great account of themselves. Wren Men and Wren Mixed graced the podium again, very well done!!

Women’s Race: Wren 6th, Willow 8th
Men’s Race: Wren 1st 🥇, Willow 11th
Mixed Race: Wren 2nd 🥈, Willow 5th

Also did very well in the raffle too!!

Looking forward to seeing everyone back at Wivenhoe on the 1st Feb for the next event. 🚣‍♀️🚣‍♀️🚣‍♀️
