Hello Customers New & Old

Well that season was different, started with a busy first 3 months, then lockdown. Certainly April was very nerve racking for the marine industry, wondering would it ever get going. Well going it certainly did once the green light was given to get back on the water. We have had the craziest 6 months I have ever had in my 40+ years. Inflatable Boats, Kayaks, Paddleboards and anything else that was involved in getting people on the water. 11-12 hour days were the norm to keep the goods moving out of the door. Not that we are complaining especially with what else has been happening. So with Christmas coming up fast we have all those Stocking Fillers. Inflatable Kayaks, Paddleboards and the fantastic Dryrobes are all available. We are back open on Wednesday 02nd Dec for Shop visitors. Click & Collect is still available. Online & Phone Sales are still working, with deliveries not an issue.

Looking forward to seeing you in the store on online or phone sales.

We are now the only Marine Shop in Burnham On Crouch. Your one stop shop for everything water related.

So a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you all

Hi everyone - so sorry for not keeping things up to date of late - quite frankly it has been absolutely crazy during the lockdown. We have had unprecedented levels requests for Kayaks and paddleboards (staycation activities) and have struggled to keep up with the telephone and messages. Things are settling down now and we are open - still have some issues with the phone so do please bear with us or if local please do drop in. Otherwise do email us on [email protected] - see you on the water!

Hello Everybody and sorry for not updating you more often but it's been a really busy season so far and i can't believe we are over half way through August. Sadly the Summer has not been what we expected but that hasn't deterred customers from purchasing, SUP's, Kayaks, Electric Bikes all going out of the door. And our ever popular Rainman Watermaker has had steady sales, so Liverboards & Ocean going waterborne people, take a look at this product. You will never have a concern about sourcing water again. Any questions on this productask for Dave, he will guide you through the range.

For those looking for something away from the water take a look at Blokart the Land Based Sailing Craft. we are linked to the East Coast Blokart guys who with the kind support of the Parlour Cafe Team hold regular weekend meetings. Why not pop over and see them, you will get a warm welcome

Lets all hope for an Indian Summer to extend the season and get the most out of your Water Vessel whatever it maybe.

As the season moves on into the cooler times, start thinking about those laying up items, tube heaters, dehumidifiers

Hope to be back with a Autumn update

Thankyou for your continued support

We have just had the first East Coast Blokart Club event up at Creeksea Barns this last weekend with 18 Karts participating form all over the UK. We hope some of you got to see the action - very windy on Sunday with some spectacular speed and skills being displayed. Look out for more activity up at Creeksae - if you want to learn more about this brilliant sport drop into The Wetworks or come along to meet the club. We will post when going on our East Coast Blokart Club page. Thanks so much to Emily and Harry at Creeksea Barns for your open, visionary and supportive outlook to the growth of sport in Burnham (and the great breakfasts!)

On the 26th and 27th of January East Coast Blokart Club will be holding its first club Fun Day event at Parlour cafe, Creeksea, some of the best British and world ranked sailors will be coming from other clubs around the country to sail at Burnham for the weekend. We are hoping for good winds and a great turnout - could achieve up to 20 karts - a great spectacle - come along and see us whilst grabbing a coffee from the Parlour Cafe.

Firstly lets start by saying Happy New Year to all our customers, and thankyou for your orders and support during 2018. With the exceptional summer that had us flat out keeping those orders leaving our premises, and for our customers who after many years of indifferent Summers had something to enjoy. Lets hope for more of the same this year.

So you have put the Christmas decorations safely away, what next ? Yes you have a boat somewhere hopefully, or you are thinking of getting one. Well thats where the Wetworks comes in, with over 40 years of experience in this market place we can hopefully help you get the best from your waterborne craft. For the new participants to this leisure we can help you make the right decision and get the best from your vessel. It cost nothing to ask, and we don't pester you with daily emails. Thats not our style.

So you have found your boat, under a cover or in a shed, even better, or perhaps it's still on the water. The important thing is to keep the inside dry. So a dehumidifier in conjunction with some form of heat to get the ambient temperature up. This combination will help keep the inside dry and stop the build up of condensation. Best to remove all your cushion outers and bedding as they will retain moisture. Drain down all water systems to prevent burst pipes. Don't forget the toilet, as the base will have water in it and if that freezes it can split the plastic. Most have a drain point on the base.

Antifreeze is well worth checking for the engine, and a good water resistant spray won't go a miss either. Add some Diesel Bug additive to the tank, this stops all those nasty diesel bugs building up, due to the condensation that happens when the fuel is not used for a while. Good time to check all your ball valves and make sure they are working okay. Check all hoses for sign of wear, especially gas hoses that are normally dated. If in doubt replace, they don't cost a lot, and if you need to shut it off you need to do it without a fight.

Check all your bilge pumps both manual and electric and make sure they are clean with no foreign bodies lurking. Float switches need to be free moving especially the float style. Toilets, maybe a good time to service them.

Make sure that all items inside lockers, both inside and out are dry and any liferafts are checked perhaps for a service.

Most of the suggestions or products made are available on the website, if unsure drop us an email or give us a call, i promise we don't bite.

Hopefully thats enough to be getting on with for now, and we will try and present one of these a month.

Happy 2019 Season
