About 25 pounds in weight and a completely different mindset ๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ
80% of my daily calories are nutritious and 20% are what I want. Every day. I mentally track through out the day and keep under 1800kcals. I can do this as I have done years of tracking with apps but I still do google things here and there as well as read packets. I would advise if youโ€™re starting out to use an app help track the calories ๐Ÿ’ฏ

In the past month I have started using the gym to train myself as I want to be strong. However this isnโ€™t for weight loss, weight loss is calories in calories out. Itโ€™s that simple. Exercise and strength training is for your heart, lungs, muscles and to maintain a healthy mind (for me anyway) and I have lost count of the amount of people who have asked โ€˜what exercise can I do forโ€ฆ.. bingo wings, fat around my mid section, double chinโ€™ etc etc NO EXERCISE WILL HELP YOU LOSE FAT. It will tone your body and shape your muscles so that when you do lose the fat youโ€™ll be defined ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ
I am walking taking living proof that you can be over weight on the outside and yet fit on the inside. As I ate more calories that my body burns, so I put on weight, even with over 20 hours of exercise a week ๐Ÿซ

This is what Iโ€™ve been doing for the past 4 months religiously, as well as eating under 2000kcals every day.
Now I weigh less, thatโ€™ll go down to under 1900kcals a day until another 9lbs is gone. I feel elated that Iโ€™m so close to my goal weight on the scales and 1 inch away from the ideal hip circumference ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ
I was laughing at myself earlier as the shorts o bought last summer that were a bit snug I knew Iโ€™d be able to fit in this summer, now theyโ€™re too big ๐Ÿ˜…
Nothing beats this feeling. I feel healthy and disciplined. I am in control of what I put in my mouth and I care about my body ๐Ÿ˜‡
If you donโ€™t follow this guy, you should. He hilarious and a Geordie, for me thatโ€™s a win win. He also just says it how it is, no BS. I like that.
My main message here is โ€˜ do something today your future self will thank you forโ€™ โœจ

So there are foods dense in nutrients
๐Ÿ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿž๐Ÿฅ•๐Ÿฅฆ๐Ÿฅ‘๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿง€๐Ÿฅš๐Ÿฅฌ

And there are foods dense in calories, that taste amazing but have fk all nutrients
๐Ÿซ๐Ÿช๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿ”๐ŸŸ๐Ÿ•๐ŸŒญ๐ŸŒฏ๐Ÿฅช๐Ÿฌ

๐Ÿ“Œ Your body can utilise both of these groups for energy and macro requirements, but only one of them for health needs.

๐Ÿ“Œ You could lose fat eating either group ( if in a caloric deficit )

๐Ÿ“ŒHowever eating no nutrients would be a one way ticket to looking like snaggle tooth ๐ŸงŸโ€โ™€๏ธ

๐ŸŽ“ Your body only needs a certain amount of nutrients, it canโ€™t have more and be super healthy. You either tick the box or not.

๐Ÿซ So a chocolate bar is NOT unhealthy, it just contains little nutrients compared to say a ๐Ÿ  sweet potato.

It would only make you gain fat IF you ate more calories than your body burned. And you would only become unhealthy if you avoided nutrient rich foods.

โœ… There is NO GOOD
โŒ There is NO BAD FOOD

Food either contains nutrients or not.

โ˜๐ŸผItโ€™s important you remember this and never demonise food.

Understand calories/ energy balance
And understand Micronutrient intake

๐ŸŽ“ A good rule of thumb to follow is to make 80% of your calories to be made up from Nutrient Dense foods like above....

And 20% can be from food that contain little nutrients ( we call this $h!te ๐Ÿคฃ )

Example, someone on 2000 calories
1600 calories of ๐Ÿ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿฅ–๐Ÿฅ”๐Ÿ ๐Ÿฅฆ๐Ÿฅ‘
400 calories of ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿซ๐Ÿฟ

There are enough Nutrients within the 80% to reach your daily quota of micronutrients needed.

You can eat full healthy, all clean if you want. That's fine.... but there is no extra benefit. You cannot be SUPER healthy.

So you may as well still enjoy your favourite treats with zero guilt โœŒ๐Ÿผ

Last minute decision to drive the 25 minutes to the coast and have a glorious sea swim. Stayed in for half an hour (see wrinkly finger tips) and repeated some affirmations while bobbing about โœจ one of them being โ€˜I am financially free and I live by the seaโ€™
Currently sat in car still on swimming costume as about to sweat it out in the sauna.
Self care really is just doing things you love and prioritising those things. Added bonus if it connects you with nature and raises your vibration โค๏ธ

My favourite season is autumn HOWEVER summer food is closely behind autumnal soups and stews.

I wear fitness clothes 7 days a week, for over 30 hours. So when I have the chance to wear a casual outfit like this, I feel it needs a photo!
Also, time with friends is so important and nourishing. Even if it is to see Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson fall I love on screen โค๏ธ
