Someone needed to say it.
A lot of “nervous system healing” content out there is actually just teaching dissociation, and calling it peace.
When the goal becomes not feeling, we don’t heal. We just get better at disappearing from ourselves. And the nervous system learns one thing: emotions aren’t safe.
You can’t selectively numb, When you close the door on anxiety, grief, or rage, you also close it on joy, pleasure, aliveness, and connection. You might feel “calmer” but you also feel... less. Less present, you and over time, that flatness becomes its own kind of suffering.
Real healing isn’t about turning the volume down on your inner world. I’m not teaching you to manage your emotions from a distance. I’m teaching you to meet them and move through them. To let your body be the intelligent, feeling, alive thing it was designed to be.
This is the work of aliveness and embodiment, learning to feel the full spectrum. The tenderness and the rage, grief and the joy. The contraction and the expansion, all of it.
Because a truly regulated nervous system doesn’t avoid the storm, it knows it can survive one.
That’s the difference between numbing and healing. One keeps you safe from your life. The other brings you ALIVE ❤️🔥
