Great Night for Bude Squash Club who beat Penzance in the Cornwall Hine Plate final.

Ok folks, I know you are gagging for the results of Bude v Newquay in the first round of the County Pawle Cup. Here it is...
Newquay win 12-3 and progress to the next round.
#5 Old ‘Irish’ timer Tony beat Carl 3-0 in a heated exchange
#4 ‘Viking’ Ali lost to a skilful Dave 3-0. Not before smashing a few holes in the walls.
#3 Chris fought but lost to a consistent Matt 3-0. Shame as Chris has dominated the local leagues recently.
#2 Rob, probably playing with an elevated ranking?, was toyed with by Mark losing 3-0
#1 Tremaine, a superb athlete, met a super squash player. Jamie sweat a lot on our court, but cruised to an easy 3-0 win.

Bude now regroup, evaluate and see who is still sober enough to compete the Hine Plate.

Thank you to Newquay for being excellent sports. Good luck in the next round.

This Thursday (25th), team match v Newquay. First round of the Pawle Cup: the County Club knockout competition. Bude will be putting out their strongest team to compete a very strong visiting side. Come down and support your team, have a few drinks. First match starts at 7.

Breaking news...while Ali is lying on his sun bed, David gets off his sick bed to win a vital point to push Bude Squash Club to Division 2 victory. Chris and Rob defy their physiques to win their matches and Tremaine valiantly but unsuccessfully loses 3-1. But hey ho, with the match lost, well done Truro 4, Bude are the champions - I feel a song coming on. And despite the individual performances this was, over the season, a great team effort from a small club...

Tonight... Bude team travel to Truro to play the last match of the season. If they win by 6 games they will be crowned Division 2 champions. Wish them luck! Tonight’s team is: Tremaine, Rob, Chris and because they’re desperate David 😜. C’mon Bude!

Club Championships 2019 Results...

Wow, what a final! Tremaine Fry (last years champion) v Fin Irish (up-coming 15yo)... 5 games, swinging from one player to the other. Fin, Tremaine, Tremaine then Fin. Fin finally victorious 15-13 in the fifth.

In the plate, Roger Marks was too powerful for the youthful Joe Caslake, coming out 3-0 winner in a good, fun tussle.

Beers and discussion followed in the bar...

In the pub, celebrating victory v Bodmin 2. Rob won with a dodgy 3-2, Chris 3-0, solid performance, Ali struggled with allergies but won 3-1 and David was immense (guess who wrote the tweet?). Good 15 points start the season.
