Bude Town Res vs Gorran - MATCH CANCELLED.

Unfortunately tomorrows game has been called off as Gorran cannot raise a team so the lads are through to the next round of the Cornwall Junior Cup.

With the 1st team not having a fixture either, the men have a weekend off from football.

We do have plenty of youth games happening though and they would always love your support - check out Bude Town FC Youth for details of matches.

The 2's are in Junior Cup action at home on Saturday against Gorran.

Gorran play in the St Piran League 2 East and are currently sitting in 2nd place.

Jake and his lads will be looking for your support as his men look to bounce-back from their defeat last time out against Lanreath.

Our first team manager Steve Hackett is going to be doing the “3 Peaks Challenge” in two weeks time. 3 mountains to climb in 24 hours. Will he be able to do it? The jury is out!

Bude Town 2 Millbrook 2

Where to start with this, blimey.

Bude started brightly and within a couple minutes forced the away keeper into a great save as our shot was destined for the top right corner. We maintained possession nicely and looked comfortable with Leam kept relatively quiet. Bude scored after 27 minutes when a lovely ball from Jake Woodland found Piran Friend who calmly controlled and finished. 1-0 at the break and not expecting what was to come in the second half.

8 minutes into the half and we were 2-0 up, a driving run from Baga who pulled the ball back on the right side to Billy Hopcroft who had his first attempt saved but he scored with the rebound.

Then a crazy 10 minute spell. Millbrook were given hope as their forward was felled in the box and the resulting penalty was dispatched into the right corner for 2-1. We had a chance to make it 3-1 moments later but another great save from their keeper thwarted us and immediately they got the game level with a neat finish for 2-2.

Bude then won a penalty after Tega was taken out in the box but Harrison saw his penalty saved. We were still in the ascendancy but Millbrook looked dangerous on the counter. We won a second penalty as Billy was brought down this time but again the away keeper saved the spot kick from Billy.

One of those days where it feels like a defeat, and sometimes football just has a habit of producing these crazy games and unfortunately for us, Millbrooks keeper had an absolute worldie.

Man of the Match went to Jake Woodland who had a great game at the back.

Thanks so much to our home support and for the stag do who were in attendance today, we hope you enjoyed the match.

Millbrook - great game played in great spirit, all the best for the season and safe journey home.

Next weekend is a weekend off and then we are back at home the following Saturday against Wendron.
