Last Saturday was all about empowered strength...

Goddess Pose, this posture represents Kali the goddess of destruction, not the chaotic kind but the intentional direct kind that allows us to clear space, clear the path for what is to come in our lives.

We invited some gentle reflection in as last weekends energy was a potent mix of Scoprio full moon and Beltane.

We called in the energy we to manifest more of and consciously noticed what might be holding us back, something we wanted to soften.

Remember, what we practice physically in yoga's Asana practice is only one small element of whats really on offer from this beautiful practice but however you connect with it, there is no right, no wrong just a chance to notice and become a little more aware 🪷

You could veiw the physical practice of yoga, the asana, as a doorway..

When we slow down enough and consciously pay attention we have space to notice our breath, thoughts and our reactions. This is where things start to shift not just in class but off the mat too.

Its not over night, but with dedication to your practice that you really begin to feel the changes that yoga and offer ✨️

I'm going to be sharing more around yoga philosophy and what yoga is beyond the postures, follow along if you're curious 🪷

Pausing with thread the needle | Parsva Balasana (side child’s pose)

This is one of those asanas where experiences can be totally different.

For some, it feels dreamy, open, expansive, for others, not much is felt at all and for some it can feel too intense!

All are valid, this can even vary day to day, think of how your body might feel one day to the next depending on sleep, food, mood and so many other elements.

There are always subtle shifts, micro adjustments, that you can make to a posture or experience that change the feel completely. It can be such a blessing to feel that you have the confidence to experiment with shapes and movement.

This isnt about getting it "right" this is about being empowered in your own practice. Simply starting with these two prompts can give you a whole load of insight into a shape we might passively hold.
