📢 Calling all runners! 📢

The road racing season is upon us! Do you have your sights set on a event/race or PB from anything 5k to Marathon? 🏅

Are you looking for a structured training plan in order to get the best out of yourself come race day? 🗓

If so, look no further! I have spent some time putting together 12-16 week distance-specific plans (5k, 10k Half/Marathon) to help you achieve your goals!🤓 - given they’re realistic of course! 😉

These plans can also be adapted, so if you prefer a week-by-week responsive approach with weekly check-ins and adjustments made in light of your progress or lifestyle etc, this can also be provided! 😊

All plans can be delivered through either an app, excel or Google sheets if nerdy spreadsheets are more your cuppa’ tea!

We can safely conclude that 2022 didn’t quite get underway as planned 🤦🏻‍♂️. On Monday 3rd Jan I collapsed off my indoor training bike mid session and was convinced I was having a heart attack- tight chest, heart racing, hyperventilating and losing consciousness etc. 45mins later I ended up at Wythenshawe hospital - a journey I was barely conscious for. Blood tests had found my Troponin levels (a protein released during a heart attack or sole form of cardiac damage) were abnormally high, then had tripled by the time I had a repeat blood test a couple of hours later. Unfortunately, these results had booked me an all inclusive stay at costa-del-Wythenshawe Cardiac Ward for 4 nights whilst I had further tests: 48hour ECG, Angiogram & Echocardiogram. Luckily, no lasting damage was done, but the cause of this episode was a result of Myocarditis - inflammation of the Myocardium (heart muscle) likely caused by COVID. Yep, I tried to train really hard after covid and put my heart, which was already inflamed (unbeknownst at the time obvs), through far too much stress 🥲🙃.
The purpose of this post is to raise a tiny bit of awareness for anyone returning to sport or exercise after covid, whether it be elite level or recreational. Don’t dive straight back in until you know you’re 100% in the clear. Take your time and ease back in slowly over the course of several weeks minimum. Keep a close eye on your heart rate, if it’s abnormally high, back off. Do this right and you’ll be back to where you were in no time. There’s no rewards for unnecessary risks when it comes to your own health and well-being.
A long road back to fitness it is. The focus is still firmly on Kona in October. 264 days. Now to hatch a plan with to get me game ready safely without trying to kill myself again 😅

Finally we have a date! IRONMAN WORLD CHAMPS, October 2022.

Outlaw Bowood 70.3 ☑️ Season ☑️
33rd Overall. 8th in Age Group. 70.3 PB 4hours 36minutes. Not going to lie, preparations for this race were borderline none existent, will agree. My training plan was full of the perfect prep, but I didn’t deliver on the sessions for a number of reasons. Didn’t even want to be there on race morning - wanted to just go home. But something got me onto the pontoon at 7:30am with over 1000 incredible individuals and once the race was underway, there’s no place I’d rather be!
Thank you for yet another fantastic event!
Looking forward to some very much needed time off!

It feels so good to be back Personal Training and starting new fitness journeys with previous and brand new clients! 🤩 I feel more motivated than ever to ensure every one of my clients reach their desired goals!

It’s been an overwhelming start, gaining almost 10 clients in my first week back! However, with that being said, I do have many available slots for personal training if it is something you’d be interested in! 💪🏻

At this time in 24hrs I’ll be out on the bike and well underway with my debut IronMan at .
I have to give a huge thanks to Sam McKenzie at for reaching about 8 weeks ago to do some testing in order to put together a bespoke race day nutrition plan, tailored to my needs! What a guy ❤️. Having access to information like this will only bring on my performance tomorrow (just my job to actually execute 🤣) and completely takes the guess work out of it. Without his plan I’d have been a solid 20g carbs short each hour of the race and my performance wouldn’t have been representative of my form. I can even see my nutrition plan on my top tube!

I’m incredibly excited to be returning to personal training and coaching at FitBox Buckshaw Village from Wednesday 7th July🗓

I can’t wait to get back into the gym and working amongst the coaching team, which has grown somewhat since I last coached in the Box! 😄

What an experience! Chuffed to bits with how I performed. Finishing time 5 hours 15 minutes 40 seconds. If you’d have said to me at 4am this morning that I’d have done it in that time, I’d have laughed in your face 😂😅.

IRONMAN UK 2019 is not to be 😪. Deferral application submitted to the 2020 IronMan ✅
Glandular Fever happened recently so I’d be stupid to attempt it🤒. Need to get next weekends half Ironman distance triathlon out the way and I’m taking a couple months off with my feet up 💆🏻‍♂️. Then I’m coming for the 2020 UK IronMan like a man possessed 😈.
