The last two weeks had been a whirl wind. The week of September 16th saw a myriad of long journeys for my husband and me, to different parts of the UK as I was finishing the final days of my one-woman shows tour, on the 21st September to concentrate on my role as the “Bird Woman” in Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins’ 2024-2025 UK and Ireland Tour.

Just before my last show I made a trip on the 19th September to the University of East London (UEL) Royal Docks School of Business and Law (RDSBL), which was the venue for the prestigious G100 Club Symposium, organised by Doirean Mullings Bryan Wilson UEL’s Associate Professor in Sustainability Management and UK Country Chair of the G100 Higher Education & Industry Connect Wing.

At Dr Wilson's request I had the honour of opening the G100 symposium with a song on 19 September 2024. I received G100 Club "Exceptional Women of Excellence" Award and my husband Stephen Komlosy and I accepted the "Iconic Women Creating a Better World for All" Award on behalf of our daughter Aret Komlosy. Both awards were presented by Professor Fatima Annan-Diab, Executive Dean of RDSBL.

It was good to meet Professor Amanda Broderick, UEL Vice-Chancellor & President; and to see old friends Eula Clarke, award-winning journalist Zeinab Badawi, Bishop Esme Beswick Mbe Guests included His Excellency Alexander Williams, Jamaica’s High Commissioner to the UK.
The symposium was a resounding celebration of leadership, diversity.

Well done Dr Doirean Wilson and UEL for a truly successful and positive event.

For some reason I forgot to post this wonderful photo from this year's State Opening of Parliament on 17th July. Stephen Komlosy and I were honoured to have been invited to the Opening by our favourite MP Andrew Rosindell MP After which we were also invited to the Reception, hosted by Sir Lindsay Hoyle, Speaker of the House, at his residence in Parliament.

What a wonderful and eventful day it was. Sir Lindsay and his family were very welcoming, warm and great hosts.

Today I am celebrating my 7th decade on God's beautiful planet. amen.

I am capable of doing whatever I put my mind to or whatever God brings my way. I know my character is not conducive to having human bosses, therefore, I have always been self-employed. So whether I’m down or up, I am in control and I treat both situations with the same reverence. I answer only to God. What a blessing that I can control what I do, when and where and how I do it. It is tough, but I don't want the luxury of blaming the authorities or someone else for my failures.

Anyway, people don’t know things I've been involved in. Why should they? As today is my birthday I'll share a few things.

I've been blessed with positions as:

- Chairman of a PLC Company
- Advisory Board Member of The THE IMAN FOUNDATION Worldwide (which promotes dialogue - challenges extremism – bring change ). Board members include Politicians from many countries, former heads of states and Prime Ministers of European Countries including The Rt Hon Bertie Ahern retired
Taoiseach of Ireland, Members of the Houses of Parliament, CIA, etc
- Board of Governors of BADA (British American Drama Academy) Affiliated with Yale & Oxford Universities
- HRH Prince Michael of Kent Genesis Initiative for SMEs
- Member of the Steering Committee for our late H M The Queen’s Golden Jubilee
- Member of Committee of more than 15 Charities
- Patron of 8 charities
- Visiting Teaching Fellow at the Middlesex University Business School for the last twelve years
- Speaker and lecturer at Oxford and Birmingham Universities, Colleges and schools
- Motivational speaker talks to school children on Bullying, Diversity, Respect & Consideration
I am aware that these are all God's doing.

Being appointed a Chairman of a PLC Company and being asked on all these committees can be hard work and time consuming for an artist like me.

For those in Business:- Just imagine being on 20 or more high profile committees and boards, that would be a dream ticket, right? It’s useless for my career as an entertainer, except that God has a reason for everything He does. it is humbling that these Boards and Committees have been the best platforms for me to understand human nature, to serve humanity, and to be exposed to diverse range of problems, topics, concerns and disputes in society.

God has given me these opportunities so I can share my board and committee experiences and lessons as a public speaker, and to give advice that would present new Board Members, be it men or women, with a great opportunity to shine.

The list is too long to share in this post.

Why do we love to use the word "Blissful" to describe a marriage?

It is such a moment to moment feeling and there is nothing permanent about it. A holiday, holding your new born baby, various pleasures, happiness, etc may give you a blissful sense of joy, but only for a moment at a time. It may even last longer than a moment. It will not be there all the time.

So why do we use it to describe a happy marriage or to wish a married couple a blissful marriage. Perhaps we should consider wishing couples, many blissful moments in their marriage.

I have certainly had many blissful moments in my marriage, I could even argue that I have had more than my deserved share of blissfulness. 😋 All glory to God.

However, it has also taken sacrifices, dedication and hard work etc from both my husband Stephen Komlosy and me to achieve contentment, peace and very many blissful moments, during our 48years together.

So, to all you married couples, I wish you very many blissful moments in your marriage. Amen

I like this advice. I remember these words.

"If milk gets bad, it becomes yoghurt. Yoghurt is more valuable than milk. If it gets even worse, it turns to cheese. Cheese is more valuable than both yoghurt and milk.

And if grape juice turns sour, it transforms into wine, which is even more expensive than grape juice.

You are not bad because you made mistakes. Mistakes are the experiences that make you more valuable as a person.

Alexander Fleming’s mistake led him to invent Penicillin.

Don’t let your mistakes get you down. It is not practice that makes perfect. It is mistakes we learn from that makes perfect!" ~ Reno

Here I am in the late 1970s stepping boldly into an unfamiliar, and alien career, and culture, trusting God to watch my back and plan my every step, remove or give me wisdom to recognise and avoid the attractive temptations and harmful obstacles. And I have not been disappointed, as I claim so many promise just as the Lord Jesus promised. What would I have done without the holy Bible to guide me? God is faithful. 😊 🙏

I have lots to be grateful for and a lot in my life, good or bad, that inspires joyful praise to God.
In my life so far, I have come through trials, tribulations, many highs, and lows, and everything else in between. They were not pleasant while I was going through them, but I have known one thing for sure: no human could help me like my God can, and does. I have made a habit of claiming the promises God made in the Bible. I search and find every single one of them, even the ones that were not obvious at first or second reading.
Just to name a few promises like:
"Be still and know that I am God."
"Ask and you shall receive."
Oh boy, do I ask? I'm sure my prayers are often granted just so the Lord could keep me silent long enough to hear His other billions of children. On the other hand, maybe the Lord loves my voice so much, He throws problems my way so He can hear me praying. 😁 Either way, I adore my God, and I crave His presence. 🤗

Life is never meant to be easy and so I asked for emotional, physical, and spiritual strength to see me through the bad times, and the humility to remember to give thanks when I come out on the other side of my challenging problems.

Can anyone, in times of trouble resist these promises in Matthew 7:7-8? “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened."
These promises have been my life saver, especially when life knocks me down to my knees, I remember to stand back, be still, because I know He is God and His way is always right.

To all the platforms, persons, businesses, careers etc that try to exclude God, good luck to you, because I personally find it difficult. 😊

A very wise and inspirational speaker/teacher friend of mine, Coach Dale Brown, famous LSU Basketball Coach shared this with me via email, recently.

"Prejudice is a great time saver because it allows one to form an opinion without bothering to get the facts.

America has so much that must change or it will collapse. Albert Einstein warned us years ago that, “ It is not the evil people thatworries me but all the good people that do nothing about the evil people.”

Good people far out-weigh the evil people but their apathy and fear keeps them silent and as Doctor Harry Edwards said, “ Silence is evils greatest ally.”

19 of 21 notable civilizations died from within and not by conquest from without. Do you have the courage to speak up ? Winston Churchill boldly stated, “ Courage is the first of human qualities because it is the quality that guarantees all the others.”

“ There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t the truth; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.” Soren Kierkegaard, Danish Philosopher. Aldous Huxley, author and philosopher supports this when he said,” Facts don’t cease to exist because they are ignored.” Will Rogers told us, “ It’s much easier to fool a man, than to convince him he’s been fooled.”

We must come out of our coma now or what famous historian Arnold Toynbee warned us will happen, “ All great civilizations rise and fall and an autopsy would show they committed suicide.”

I suspect that the vast majority of you that read this will do nothing, so remember the road to Auschwitz was built by hatred but paved with indifference and total apathy and because of that millions were slaughtered. Nothing is easier than self-deceit. Do you have the courage to stand up for what is right or will you remain silent?"

“ Those that do not speak out against evil, command it to be done.” Leonardo Da Vinci
