I was at the game, and it was a proper battle. Finchamstead packed the middle of the park and made it incredibly difficult to get clean service into our front line. For long spells, it was a real grind.
But Tara showed her maturity. She stayed locked in, kept her composure, and didn’t let the lack of chances rattle her. She also put in a real shift out of possession, tracking back and helping her side defensively – the kind of work rate that often goes unnoticed but makes all the difference.
Then, with about 10 minutes to play, the team made a tactical switch – going more direct and stretching the opposition by playing into wide areas. That opened things up… and Tara came alive.
