🥋 WE’RE BACK!! 🥋

After the summer break, it was brilliant to see Buckingham Judo Club buzzing again this weekend, and what a way to kick off the new term! 💪

⭐ We crowned our first Judokas of the Week
🎂 One of our younger judoka celebrated with a brilliant Judo Birthday Party
🎉 While one of our resident green belts had an “on the mat” birthday, because apparently birthdays aren’t an excuse to miss training! 😂🥋
🥋 Our Mons session was full of energy, enthusiasm and some great judo
🔥 And our Senior session got everyone straight back into the swing of things!

More than anything, it was fantastic to see the dojo busy again, familiar faces returning, everyone getting stuck in and plenty of smiles both on and off the mat.

There’s lots to look forward to over the coming months, with more learning, new challenges, gradings, competitions and plenty of opportunities for everyone to keep developing their judo.

A huge well done to everyone who trained, and thank you as always to our coaches, helpers, parents and supporters who make the club such a great place to be. 💙

The summer break is over, the mats are busy again and the new judo season is underway… we can’t wait to see what this one brings! 🥋💪

🥋 And that’s a wrap for the summer! ☀️

What a fantastic way to finish the school year! Our end-of-term club competition and party was full of smiles, great judo, plenty of cheering (and maybe a little bit of chocolate too! 🍫🏅).

A huge well done to every one of our judoka, you should all be incredibly proud. The effort, determination and support you showed each other today was exactly what Buckingham Judo Club is all about.

This club is very much a team effort. Thank you to all of our parents who are always willing to lend a hand, especially those who do the website maintenance or help get the mats out and packed away each week. Your support doesn’t go unnoticed and we really do appreciate it.

We’ve got loads more photos and videos from today’s fun to share over the coming weeks, so keep an eye on our page.

We’ll be back on Saturday 5th September, ready for another term packed with judo, laughs and plenty of new challenges.

Already having judo withdrawal symptoms? Don’t worry, we know the feeling! 😄 We’ll be sharing details of some fantastic local clubs where you can keep training over the summer if you just can’t stay away from the tatami.

🥋 🌞Hot news from Buckingham Judo Club! 🥋

This week has been full of achievements, and we couldn’t be prouder of everyone!

A huge congratulations to Zoaheb, who has officially achieved his Black Belt! 🥋⚫ What an incredible milestone and a reward for years of hard work, dedication and perseverance. We’re all incredibly proud of you!

Massive congratulations also go to Dan, who has earned his coaching award and picked up more points towards his own Black Belt journey. Brilliant work, Dan, a great achievement both on and off the mat! 👏

Our junior judoka enjoyed a fantastic combined training session, expertly led by Anthony. It was an energetic, engaging session with everyone giving 100%, learning new skills and having plenty of fun along the way. Thank you, Anthony! 🙌

Well done to all of this week’s Judoka of the Week winners! 🌟 Your effort, determination and positive attitude continue to make us proud every single week.

📅 Don’t forget! Next Saturday is our End of Term Club Competition & Party! 🎉

🥋 ☀️This weeks Club Update 🕶️ 🥋

It may have been a smaller Sho session this week, but everyone still gave 110%! The effort and enthusiasm were brilliant, so this week everyone was awarded Judoka of the Week, very well deserved! 🌟

A big well done to Timothy, who earned Judoka of the Week in the Mon session for his fantastic effort and attitude.

Dan took the Mon session and delivered a brilliant, engaging class that kept everyone working hard and having fun. Thanks to Tom for taking a great technical blue belt session for the seniors, perfect for a warm Saturday afternoon.

Congratulations to everyone who completed a grading today in the Mon session. A special mention goes to Thor, who demonstrated excellent knowledge of the Mon syllabus despite transferring across from a Sho grade.

Finally, a huge congratulations to Oli, who achieved his blue belt today! Your knowledge was absolutely spot on, a fantastic achievement! 💙🥋

🥋 Another brilliant week at Buckingham Judo Club! 🥋

A huge well done to our Judoka of the Week for the Sho session today, who showed fantastic determination. After picking up a small injury, they took a moment to make sure they were okay before getting back on the mat and finishing the session with a brilliant attitude. A very well-deserved award! 👏

Congratulations as well to everyone who completed their grading during the Mon session. You have all worked incredibly hard, and it was wonderful to see that effort rewarded. Wear those new grades with pride!

Our seniors spent the session learning competition-style variations of Maki Komi, focusing on strong entries, control and adapting the technique against a resisting opponent. A big thank you to Hannah for sharing her expert coaching and competition knowledge with the group, everyone gained a lot from the session.

Well done, everyone. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and we’ll see you all next week! 🥋

🥋 🥋 Dynamic Training Week at Buckingham Judo Club! 🥋

What a fantastic day of energy, focus, and hard work on the mats! Here is a look at what our players achieved this week:

Sho Grades: Went back to basics. Focused heavily on movement and coordination. Building those fundamental building blocks!

Mon Grades: Putting in the final preparation. Getting fully ready for their big grading next week. The dedication is showing!

Seniors: Perfected their Sumi Gaeshi. Learned two highly effective, practical guard passes. Plus, they mastered one "silly" guard pass just for fun!

Fantastic effort from everyone involved. Keep this momentum going into next week!

Weekly Club Round-Up 🥳

Another brilliant week on the mat with lots of smiles, effort, and some very creative judo!

🌟 Congratulations to our Judoka of the Week!
This week’s award goes to a fantastic young judoka who showed great listening, determination, and a brilliant attitude throughout the session. They kept trying even when things were tricky, helped others, and showed exactly the kind of spirit we love to see at the club. Well done! very well deserved! 👏

👶 We also want to give a very special welcome to our newest club member, who is already on the members list at just 3 weeks old! Starting them young! Although we may give them a little while before their first randori session! 😄

The Mon session had loads of fun and games this week, including a very serious tactical challenge of “Don’t Get Caught by the Camera”which, judging by some of the faces, may now be one of the most competitive games in judo.

We also had Tom demonstrating his highly specialised, probably copyrighted, chicken wing Tai Otoshi move. We’re not entirely sure if it’s IJF approved, but it certainly got people talking! 🐔🥋

And a huge well done to our seniors who, when given a bit of free rein, immediately decided that what they really wanted to do was… fight each other. Lovely. Terrifying. Exactly what we like to see. Great effort, great attitude, and some really good judo on display.

Well done everyone! another great week at the club. See you all back on the mat next week! 🥋
