Foxhill Retirement Offering personal and tailored care for your equine friend in retirement.

In the 8 years we have been at FOXHILL we have seen no less than 28 horses retire with us, each and everyone of them became a member of the family and take with them a piece of our hearts but its time for us to move on, take some time for ourselves and plan the next adventure. We thank every single livery, our vet team, farriers and of course wonderful farmers who have made everything possible. With love, Claire, Gareth & Hattie ###

When you mistakenly trust the weather forecast, thinking you have another hour to sweep the paddocks, only to be caught in torrential rain 🌧 . As Mary Berry would say, ”…got a soggy bottom” Need a cab on my tractor 🚜! Typically I get home and the sun comes back out πŸ˜‚

Most of our retirees arrive at Foxhill Retirement due to old age or injury, bringing a halt to their ridden or competitive career and we all hope a long and happy retirement follows. Occasionally we have a horse arrive with an already diagnosed life shortening illness, beautiful Hettie was one of those horses. With an estimated 3-6 months to enjoy just being a horse, we were privileged her wonderful owner chose Foxhill as a place for her to spend her last chapter. Hettie thrived and thoroughly embraced life with the mare herd, making mischief on farrier trim days by galloping around us all and forming special bonds with β€œher girls” whom she loved to organise around the hay bales! Over a year after her arrival the heartbreaking decision to let her go, before she declined, was made. Rachel, It’s been a joy to look after your special mare and tonight we toast her life, hoping you forever remember the fun times you shared together. Special thanks to Buckingham Equine Vets for their excellent care both throughout and until the end πŸ’”
