Fun in the sun 🌞

Some stunning weather yesterday in Portland as five of our divers went for a dip on the RMS Salsette, lying on the seabed at 43 meters.

A P&O liner that was torpedoed in 1917 by a U-boat just off Portland. Fifteen members of the crew died.

She’s a big wreck and we barely managed to scratch the surface, we will be back! This clip shows the gun mounted on her stern deck.

Congratulations to Andy who passed his Accelerated Decompression Procedures certification!

Our 2026 Calendar was unveiled to members at our AGM on Tuesday. We’ve got some exciting trips planned for this year. We’ve brought back and extended last year’s 4 Quarry Tour to make a 5 Quarry Tour this year. This calendar runs in addition to our regular programme of diving at Calvert and Stoney Cove. We also expect a few more impromptu day trips to happen along the way!

Happy International Woman’s Day to the many fabulous women at Stowe Sub Aqua Club. Diving is a wonderful pursuit for all, and here at SSAC we pride ourselves on our inclusivity. We want everyone to fall in love with the world beneath the waves. We will always keep pushing ourselves to be the best that we can be!
