CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT
https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=677041007766191&set=a.432316625571965

As a result of many meetings between the clubs, both Buckingham United FC & Buckingham Athletic FC formally agreed to pass the motion to combine both clubs, creating Buckingham Football Club with immediate effect.

Initial exploratory meetings between both clubs showed a real synergy, shared aspirations, and a great working relationship. There has been no historic rivalry between the two clubs, and instead one of unique connections, which has allowed this door of opportunity to be opened.

This is not an end to Buckingham Athletic or Buckingham United, this is very much a continuation in the story of these clubs and football within the town. The history of which won’t be forgotten.

The ultimate aim of combining the clubs is to provide the town with a sustainable non-league football club by sharing resources, passionate volunteers, and great sporting facilities. A club with the aim of pushing up the pyramid while also providing structured football for the community, maintaining the fun and enjoyment of the game that everyone loves.

This is a really exciting time for football in the town, and the club as a whole, providing a great opportunity to carry this positive momentum forward and build something. Further details and opportunities will be announced over the next few days.

United's Sunday B side slipped to an agonising defeat in the final of the Bill Johnson Cup.

United went a goal down inside seven minutes before four first half goals from Lewis Dench, Paddy Field and a brace from Sam McCarthy put United 4-2 up at the break.

With 15 minutes left to play United were forced into several changes all at the same time including the loss of Josh Hooper, Irish then scoring direct from a free kick on the halfway line... all within the space of a minute switched the momentum in Irish's favour.

Irish took advantage and scored two more in the next 10 minutes to ultimately take the silverware home.

In what has been a great season for the side finishing runners up in both the league and the cup will hurt but the side still has plenty to be proud of.

Congratulations to MK Irish on the day who battled right until the very end.

The Buckingham United Ladies rounded off an excellent season securing the League Cup this afternoon with a determined performance after already securing the league title a couple of weeks ago.

First half goals from Casey Chapman and Sam Nunn took United into the break 2-1 up before a second goal from Diamonds midway through the second half.

United turned up the pressure and the introduction of Brooke Burns was vital with Brooke scoring twice either side of a Bex Smart strike to emphatically bring home the silverware.

It truly has been an excellent season for the girls and one which has really helped to raise the profile of women's football locally.

Next up is a deserved end of season trip to Barcelona before a well earned break!

United are crowned League Champions following a dominating performance at home to Corby Town

Sam Nunn opened the scoring from the spot before scoring a second. Jordan Heron followed up scoring a brace before half time making it 4-0.

Second half United continued the pressure producing some excellent saves from the Corby goalkeeper.

A sensational strike from distance Chelsea Smith made it 5-0 before Holly Craddock rounded up the scoring with a goalmouth scramble.

A well deserved league title for the ladies having gone unbeaten so far in the league. Huge credit to all the girls along with Manager Michael Anglin, Geoff Sharp and all those who have helped and supported throughout the season.

A special mention to Graham Arnold who has continuously supported the girls during the season through his photos and videos at games further promoting both the club and Women's football.
