Proud to have been selected as part of such a brilliant coaching team supporting the Swim England DiSE athletes at the McCullagh International Meet.

Five days with an incredible group of swimmers learning, growing and competing at a high level. I loved getting to know them all whilst educating and supporting them with their physical prep.

A real “look how far I’ve come” moment in my own coaching journey, and a reminder of why I love what I do!

September Client Wins 💪👏

This month has been all about clients exceeding their own expectations and proving just how much they’re capable of. From lifting weights they never imagined, to holding on to more strength than they believed possible post-op — there’s been no shortage of empowering moments 👇

👩 My mum went from believing 10kg was “too heavy” to squat with, to hitting 12 smooth, controlled reps with 20kg in just 4 weeks!

🏋️‍♂️ J never thought he’d be lifting his own bodyweight — let alone 10kg more. But after working hard on his trap bar deadlift technique, that’s exactly what he achieved this month.

💪 Ian returned to training after 9 weeks off for surgery. He was so proud of the press up strength he’d built before and feared it would be gone. So we gave it a try — and he still got 10 full press-ups.

❤️‍🩹 When Deborah first started training with me, she lacked confidence in the gym after a number of injuries. Fast forward 3 years and she’s gone from strength to strength — now understanding her limits, knowing when to push, and always training with great awareness of technique and injury prevention.

📈 Kellie’s press-up progress has been flying, so I challenged her to try eccentric press-ups… and she nailed them with brilliant control.

The best part of September? Clients continually discovering they’re capable of more than they imagined 🌟

August Client Wins 💙✨

Another month of hard work paying off — even with holidays and summer events in full swing! From smashing strength PBs, to showing resilience whilst rebuilding post-op, to carrying progress over into everyday life, it’s been incredible to see my clients pushing past limits and proving what’s possible 👏👇

🏋️‍♂️ Sally had a total hip replacement in December and has been rebuilding her strength and mobility step by step. This month her progress has soared — hitting 130kg on the leg press and now completing goblet box squats to the lower bench height.

🪏 Leonie took on a huge garden project — shovelling soil, and sand, and hauling it all around in wheelbarrows. Thanks to the upper body strength she’s built in her programme, she was able to power through a task that would have once felt impossible. A brilliant reminder that fitness isn’t just about the gym — it makes everyday tasks so much easier too!

🦵 Kim had ACL surgery just 7 weeks ago and has been absolutely flying through her rehab. She has been working hard to rebuild mobility, strength, and stability around her knee and we have begun to reintroduce more squat movements into her routine.

👴 I couldn’t not include my Grandad again this month! Just 7 weeks ago, he was struggling physically and mentally to climb the stairs using his left leg, even with support. Last week? He stepped up 12 times with no support at all!

Progress comes in so many forms — from lifting heavier, to moving with more freedom, to feeling stronger in everyday life. No matter how big or small, these wins all add up and show just how much is possible with consistency 👏

July Client Wins 💪🔥

Another month of showing up, pushing limits, and proving what’s possible! I’ve been blown away by the dedication, mindset shifts, and progress my clients have made this month both inside and outside of the gym.

Here are a few standout wins from July 👇

❤️ One of the most special wins this month: my 84-year-old Grandad stepped into the gym with me for his first-ever training session. Watching him take that first step and overcoming his nerves reminded me that it’s never too late to start. So incredibly proud!

🏋️‍♂️ Kellie overcame her fear of barbell squats after struggling with lower back pain in the past. By starting gradually with barbell box squats, she’s rebuilt her confidence—and is now squatting pain-free and stronger than ever.

🦵 Jo came to me wanting to build strength to ease the debilitating knee pain caused by arthritis and to support her mental wellbeing. Just 6 weeks in, she’s now walking and moving through her day pain-free, and noticing daily improvements in both her physical health and overall mindset.

💪 J has always struggled with his weight and has spent the last couple of years working hard to build muscle. This month, he hit 90kg for the first time ever - a massive milestone and testament to his consistency and commitment!

📈 Ali started just a couple of months ago working on incline push-ups, steadily and consistently chipping away at them. Now she’s not only mastered full push-ups, but is smashing 4 sets of 12 with great control!

Every win counts. Whether it’s physical strength, mental resilience, or just showing up when it would’ve been easier not to - that’s the real progress 👏

June Client Wins 👏

I’m starting a new monthly wrap-up to highlight and celebrate some of the amazing progress my clients have made—and June was full of it!

Here are just a few standout moments:

💪 Sian is rebuilding strength and stability in her shoulder post-surgery and is finally feeling consistent with a strength programme after several past attempts.

🚶‍♀️ Stacie, who has spina bifida, is now walking with more stability—making day-to-day tasks like climbing stairs easier. She also clocked up some serious steps whilst on holiday!

🏋️‍♂️ Michael has refined his lifting techniques and developed his confidence so that he now feels motivated and able to train solo when he is living back abroad.

🦵 Erica smashed her hack squat goal—progressing from 50kg to 90kg in just 8 weeks, all whilst improving depth and working around knee stiffness.

💙 Ali was no stranger to the gym, but since following a personalised plan, she’s gained a deeper understanding of structure, technique, and how to challenge herself safely. She’s now confidently doing things she never thought she could!

This is just a snapshot of the wins some of my clients achieved last month—each on their own path, working towards unique goals. That’s why I’ve started these monthly roundups: to highlight the variety of ways strength, confidence, and progress can show up for different people.

A little reintroduction 💙

Hello everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve posted on here, but now that I’m settling in to life over at .co.uk, I’m excited to start using this page again - both to celebrate my clients’ amazing achievements, and to share some education and guidance around the (sometimes confusing) world of health and fitness!

But first, a quick reintroduction:

I’m Louise – a personal trainer and strength & conditioning coach with a passion for helping people feel stronger, more confident and completely at home in the gym.

I have a 1st class degree in Sport & Exercise Science, and a background in competitive swimming and dance, all of which have provided me with a breadth of knowledge and skills to create personalised training programmes that align with your unique needs, abilities and lifestyle.

I’m also qualified for GP referrals, so if you have specific health considerations, I can design a plan that’s both safe and effective for you.

Over the past 7 years, I’ve worked with a wide range of clients – from complete beginners building confidence and mastering the basics, to international athletes chasing marginal gains.

I truly believe that every goal is valid, every win is worth celebrating, and I’m all about making sure you enjoy the process as much as the results.

Outside of the gym I’m a big F1 fan (long-suffering Ferrari fan here 🏎️), book lover and newbie traveller! Always happy to chat about the latest Grand Prix, swap book recommendations, or hear your travel tips!

✨ CLIENT SPOTLIGHT ✨

Over the weekend my incredible client .racing and her co-driver Tom became the 2024 overall GT Cup Champions and GTC Champions after a brilliant season of racing from them both! Not only that, but Charlotte is also the first female driver ever to win the overall championship in this series! What an incredible achievement and so thoroughly deserved with all the hard work she has put in each and every session over the last 3 years that we have been working together 👏💪

Here is what she had to say:

‘I have so much to thank Louise for since we began working together three years ago to get me into the best physical shape I could be in to fight for the Championship as a 52 year old and this year we did it, I won GT Cup over all! Louise has helped me overcome physical challenges that come firstly with the sport and secondly with my age. Always honing my training programmes to make sure I was at my best and so vigilant with rehabilitation if ever I came back from a race weekend with shoulder issues. If you want a PT that takes a real interest in your training goals whatever that is, she’s the one! Thank you Louise for being a major contributor to my success!‘

Hello everyone, I thought I’d start off with a little introduction post!

I’m Louise and I’m a qualified level 3 Personal Trainer with a 1st Class degree in Sport & Exercise Science and almost 4 years experience working with a top performance swimming club. Currently I’m working towards UKSCA accreditation and the level 3 GP Referral qualification.

I am a friendly and enthusiastic trainer who thrives off helping others to achieve their goals and improve their confidence and technique in the gym. I believe that fitness and exercise provides so many positive benefits to everyone, and I hope to be able to pass on my knowledge and passion to those that I work with.

My sporting background is in competitive swimming and dance however, my degree in Sport & Exercise Science has provided me with the knowledge to help you achieve goals targeting both general health and wellbeing, and competitive performances. Whether you want to lose weight, improve technique, or enhance your performance in a specific sport, I can provide you with the training and knowledge to achieve your goals.

When working together, I will ensure that your sessions are individualised and specifically tailored towards your needs, ability, and goals. My aim is to help you enjoy exercising and educate you on the basics of health and fitness in order to help you feel confident enough to make long-term, sustainable changes to your lifestyle. If you aspire to improve performance in a specific sport, I can help you fine tune your technique and provide you with knowledge and exercises aiding injury risk reduction targeted towards your sport.
