Yes, creek boats do look after us, but they can often feel like slow bathtubs! 🛁

Join me for a weekend course to learn all the essential techniques to manoeuvre your creek boat more efficiently. Rather than slowly plugging your way through everything in your path, you’ll learn to use key tactics such as cross-current momentum, stroke timing, body rotation, and many more essential techniques.

The weekend will include one day of coaching on Grade 3 water, followed by a leadership day where you’ll put your newly refined skills into practice while enjoying some Dartmoor classics.

Class 3 Progression Weekend – Dartmoor!

On this four-day course, we will be paddling various sections of rivers around Dartmoor and going over all the skills required to make you a solid Class 3 paddler. From fundamental kayaking mechanics all the way to essential teamwork skills.

So, if you're looking to go from nervously surviving your Class 3 runs to having all the tools and confidence, then this is a shout-out for you!

Hey team! This one I'm really excited for! Come join me on the Dart for a weekend of fun half-slice paddling.

Throughout the weekend, we will break down all the body mechanics for tallies, pivot turns and rock splats, giving you all the technical skills and correct theory to get the most out of your half-slice and play paddling.

This course is aimed at all paddlers, as long as you've got a good Eskimo roll. The focus during the course won't be on hard paddling, but rather on great technique and implementing it at the right time!

Practice doesn't always make perfect… practice makes permanent, so let's get it right!

ADVANCED WHITE WATER LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

Develop your confidence, judgement and decision-making as an advanced white water leader.
This two-day course is aimed at experienced paddlers looking to develop their ability to lead groups on challenging white water.
We'll work on practical leadership skills including river reading, risk assessment, decision-making, line choice, group management and responding effectively to changing situations.

10 years ago, Fridays were East Lyn fun-and-play days with friends. This autumn and winter, we’ll be dedicating more time once again to this beautiful South West gem.

What sets the East Lyn apart is the steepness. Compared with the Lyn, the Upper Dart is the training ground. A Saturday on the Upper Dart followed by a Sunday on the East Lyn has to be one of the best weekends the South West has to offer.

Learning the lines, the moves and the must-make boofs is what makes the East Lyn so special. That feeling of flight as you skip over the hole halfway down a Grade 5 double drop and land on the easy exit… the key strokes, timing and core tension all coming together. It’s what makes the East Lyn such a thrilling and rewarding day out.

This autumn and winter, every Advanced Leader Training will include a day on the East Lyn, levels permitting, giving paddlers the opportunity to experience the real top end of the leadership environment.
