💙 RUNNING FOR DAD. RAISING AWARENESS FOR PROSTATE CANCER. 💙
This is a very personal post for our family and for everyone at Community Fitness.
Recently, my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
For the past 8 years, Dad has been a huge part of Community Fitness. Many of you will know him as our caretaker — always around the gym, always willing to help, and very much part of the Community Fitness family.
When Dad received his diagnosis, he made the decision that he wanted us to make it public.
Not because he wanted sympathy…
Because if sharing his story encourages even one man to get checked, have a conversation or take their health more seriously, then something positive can come from what he’s going through.
So this October, a team of us from Community Fitness will be taking on the Cardiff Half Marathon, raising money for Prostate Cymru and, just as importantly, raising awareness of prostate cancer.
💙 For Dad.
💙 For every family affected by prostate cancer.
💙 And for every man who might see this post and decide it’s time to get checked.
We’re incredibly proud of our Dad for wanting to use his diagnosis to help others.
If you can donate, we’d be hugely grateful. If you can’t, please share this post — because raising awareness could be every bit as important.

This is what Community Fitness has always been about.
People Before Performance.
Community Before Competition.
Now it’s our turn to come together for one of our own. 💙
Thanks
Lee
