It's our 11th birthday event this Saturday! 🎂🎉

Fancy dress is completely optional, but if you'd like to dress up, the theme is "Dress for the wrong occasion or event!" 🤷‍♀️

We'll also be collecting for the Yare Valley Churches Community Pantry.

Again, donations are entirely voluntary.

The Yare Valley Churches volunteers support us every week with the pod which helps our community event. 💛

We love to give something back twice a year, by collecting for the Yare Valley Churches Community Pantry. There are local families in need and our collections have always been so generously supported by parkrunners.

The list of items the volunteers need is below. If you can bring one or two things, it would be hugely appreciated. 💚

What a lovely morning at Brundall parkrun! ⛅

Despite the rain this week, the course wasn't too wet underfoot, although the wind certainly made itself known! 🌬️

A fantastic 105 parkrunners and parkwalkers joined us this morning, including 14 people visiting Brundall for the very first time.

A special welcome goes to Isobel Wheeler, who completed her very first parkrun today. We hope it's the first of many! 👏

Congratulations to the 10 people who achieved new PBs this morning – impressive running in those breezy conditions.

We were delighted to welcome visitors from near and far, including Nick from London, Millie from Southend, Sam from Northampton, Jackie from Gorleston, visitors from Catton and Norwich, and a fantastic group from Norwich Road Runners! ❤️🤍🖤

We also loved seeing three generations of the Wilkins family taking part together, with Kevin, Philip and Noah all completing the course this morning. That's what parkrun is all about! 🧑‍🧑‍🧒

A huge thank you to Tom for joining us with the Yare Valley Churches Pod, and of course to all our wonderful volunteers who made today's event possible. We simply couldn't do it without you.
💛🩷💙🧡

Don't forget that next parkrunday is our 11th Birthday Event! We'll also be collecting donations for the Yare Valley Churches Food Pantry, and there's a fancy dress theme too, so start planning those outfits! 🎂

"Dress for the wrong event or occasion” 😃

See you next parkrunday 🌳💚

10/06/2026

Last time James was Run Director, the weather was very hot indeed.

The runners were puffing, the volunteers were fanning themselves, and everyone wondered how long the sunshine could possibly last.

“Don’t worry,” chuckled James. “Monday is the 1st of June, which means it will be summer. And in Britain, that means it’s bound to rain.”

The other engines laughed.

But the very next day, the clouds arrived.

Then came the drizzle.

Then came the showers.

Then came the thunderstorms.

And ever since then, it seems James’s weather prediction has been absolutely correct.

Now James is resting in the sidings and watching events unfold from afar.

This week, Sarah is the engine in charge.

“James,” said Sarah, “we've had days of rain. Could you perhaps predict something different this time?”

James thought very carefully.

“Well,” he said, “it can't rain forever... probably.”

Sarah wasn't entirely convinced.

Still, she is hopeful that the skies over Brundall will finally brighten and that the runners will enjoy some sunshine at last.

But Sarah knows that good weather alone does not make a parkrun happen.

Even the most useful engine needs a team.

So this week Sarah is hoping for sunshine... and volunteers!

She is looking for:

🚩 A marshal
📱 Two barcode scanners
⏱️ A timekeeper
🚶 A tailwalker

"If you can help," smiled Sarah, "I'd be very grateful indeed."

And somewhere in the background, James is still studying the clouds and wondering whether his weather forecasting career might have gone slightly off the rails. 🚂☀️☔

"Hey Stu, how many barcode scanners do we need this week?"

We're looking a bit short of a few other volunteers if anyone can help please?

Oh and 2 barcode scanners please!
