Thanks for the very generous gifts from the parents and players of the team, and from Harry and Ian on behalf of the club.

Last night's presentation was my last involvement with the team and the club. It has been an absolute pleasure.

Hopefully I managed to cover everything I needed to say last night, but thanks once again for all the help and support I have received over the last four years from parents and supporters.
Thanks again also to all of the players who have represented the team during my time here, particularly the current group who have stuck with it when others wouldn't or couldn't. We have shared a lot of good and bad times, and hopefully you will all look back fondly on your time with the team.
I wish you all the very best for the future, and I'll hopefully see most of you again next season when you are playing for your new teams.
Cheers, Alan

End of season trip to the footgolf at Drumoig with the boys. The trophy was won this year by Haaris Ahmed with an impressive 2 under par winning score. Liam Innes finished with the highest score, although somehow managed to avoid the wooden spoon as Hamza did not finish after slicing his ball into the water on the 5th šŸ™ˆ

Now that the season has ended, unfortunately we have had to make the difficult decision not to continue as a team for next season.

We have carried a small squad for the past two seasons, and it was a real struggle to field a team at times, particularly towards the end of this season. There has been a lot of uncertainty and speculation in recent weeks, and following a meeting with the players, it was clear that a few had decided to move onto new teams for next season, which is entirely understandable in the circumstances. Based on this, I felt that it would not be feasible to bring in a significant number of players and rebuild the squad for next season, and hence the decision was taken not to continue.

I have had the pleasure of coaching a great bunch of young men over the last four seasons. There is some real quality in our team, and it's therefore no surprise that some of the players already have other options to consider. I genuinely hope that all of the boys can continue playing, and can go off and enhance other teams. I will certainly assist in any way that I can.

I'd like to thank all of our supporters and parents who have been a great help over the past four years, and a great source of encouragement for the boys.

On this day three years ago, our players were celebrating winning the U13 J Clenaghan League, and we have shared some great times and created some great memories over the years. At the start of this season we still had 10 players from the original U13 squad, and I’m proud of the fact that we managed to keep most of the group together for so long. It's been a privilege to help develop these boys and all of the players who have joined in subsequent years. So finally I'd like to thank all of the players who have played for us during the last four seasons for all their effort and commitment during good times and bad times. I wish you all the best for the future, and I look forward to seeing you continue to develop over the coming years.

Cheers, Alan.

DDYFA U16 Maryfield League result:
Broughty Panthers 1 (Munro) v 10 Pitfour

We have been struggling to field a team for our last few matches, but we were desperate for our final game of the season to go ahead today.
We started the game brightly, and for the first 10 minutes we created 4 or 5 decent chances and probably should have been ahead. After 13 minutes Pitfour took the lead with one of their first attacks. Pitfour extended their lead a few minutes later which was another sloppy goal from our point of view, but we managed to pull a goal back a few minutes later when Adam Barclay swung a great cross in for Lewis Munro to finish. However, Pitfour restored their two goal cushion shortly afterwards after some more poor defending from us. The heads started to go down, and Pitfour took control, adding another two goals before half time - a good finish for their fourth and a penalty for their fifth. 1-5 HT.
We had to make a couple of enforced substitutions, and the second half started slowly. There were no more goals until around midway through the second half when Pitfour added a sixth. After that, it became even more of an onslaught, and Pitfour added another four goals before the end to complete the scoring.
Not the result or overall performance we were hoping for today, apart from our strong start to the match. A lot of players were returning from long absences today, so it was perhaps no surprise that we faded badly as the game went on. We wish Pitfour all the best for their East Region Cup Final against Monifieth next week, a game which is sure to be a cracker!
As the curtain comes down on another challenging season for us, thanks to all the players for their effort, and the parents for their support.
