Season 25 - 26 done and dusted. Presentation day yesterday at annual club bbq a great day in the sunshine at Monikie.

Congrats to each & every player for a really good enjoyable season👏

Lads travelled to Scone tonight to play Scone Reds from Fife League for a friendly to finish the season off a really good competitive game both teams giving their all.

Thanks to Scone for hosting and all the best for next season.

Match Day 22 and the final game of the season against a well drilled Bridge of Earn side at Whitton Park in the glorious sunshine. This summer football might just be a thing.
Ferry started slowly and found themselves a goal down with the ball ending up in the net after coming off the crossbar twice. The Ferry then started to push forward and created a couple of chances through Sammy and Jude however Bridge of Earn doubled their lead after sloppy passing by the Ferry in a dangerous area, which Bridge of Earn took full advantage of.
It didnt take long before the lads were back in the game after some good play in the final third. Jude saw his shot rebound off the bar and when it fell back to him he fed it out wide to Hamish who crossed it first time and found Max unmarked in the box to fire the ball into the net.
This seemed to lift the lads and they started to pass and create more chances and it paid off when the lads were awarded a penalty after a handball in the box. Hamish stepped up and made no mistake frim the spot to bring the game level.
Ferry could have went infront after another penalty award however the Keeper made a good save with his feet to keep the score at 2-2 at half time.
Ferry started the 2nd half much better and took a well deserved lead after a long goal kick from Gio found Hamish who hit a shot from 25 yards over the keeper and into the net. Much better from the lads.
Another great passage of play saw Zac find Jamie who rolled the ball to Lewis Clark and the cross came close to finding Jude in the box.
Ferry continued to cause the Bridge of Earn defence trouble and came close on a few occasions from Zac and Oscar.
Jamie was at the heart of every Ferry move in the latter stages and was excellent in the middle of the park creating chance after chance and the Ferry defence stood tall and strong to minimise any threat from Bridge of Earn. A well fought 3-2 victory for the lads.

It's been a long hard season for the lads this year, especially going through a very important year at school sitting exams but the character shown by every single player has been nothing short of magnificent, and reaching a cup final was a highlight they should be very proud of as well as finishing with 48 pts in joint 2nd place at the moment. The togetherness of this group of players is great to see and this is evident on and off the park.
As Match Reporter this season I'd like to take the opportunity to thank the Coaches and Parents for their positive feedback and I'd like to thank the players themselves for being such a great group of lads who have been great to watch, never complain and have been a pleasure to be around and are a credit to everyone involved at Ferry Athletic and a credit to themselves. Well done lads.

Match Day 21 and a midweek home league match against Arbroath Youth.
The Ferry looking to bounce back to winning ways after a tremendous performance and effort in the Mac Brown Cup Final.
Ferry started on the front foot and it wasnt long before the lads were in front. A corner from McKenzie found Sammy at the back post who cut it back to Jayden to finish off with his right, yes right foot.
Ferry had most of the ball throughout the first half and had chances but just couldn't find that killer touch infront of goal. The best chance came when Sammy played a great ball into the box and Oscar was very unlucky with a good header.
Ferry made several half time changes in an effort to put the game to bed and it almost immediately paid off when Brodie ran through the Arbroath midfield and played a great ball to Zac who crossed the ball to Jude who had a spectacular overhead kick go agonisingly wide.
Ferry then extended their lead from a corner from Hamish, when the ball came into the box and Ethan was well placed to nudge it over the line.
Arbroath were not finished however and scored from the penalty spot to keep themselves in the game.
Ferry finally put the game out of reach when Jude played in Oscar who took the ball around the Arbroath defender and finished nicely into the bottom corner.
Onto Sunday now for the final game of the season against a good Bridge of Earn side who have been winning regularly.

CUP FINAL DAY

Mac Brown Cup Final for the Ferry today against a very strong Dundee West Reds who have already booked their spot in the top flight with undoubtedly a very successful league campaign as well as a good run in this cup.
The Ferry have also had a very successful season and could potentially finish 2nd in the table if they win their 2 remaining league games.
However today is a one off game, a cup final, and Ferry's first ever cup final as a group, so well done Coaches and Players for reaching today's game.
The Ferry turned up for the match at North End Park in style, all dressed in shirts, trousers and wearing the Ferry Athletic Tie with pride. Although the underdogs, the lads come here with their heads held high and will undoubtedly show a good account of themselves and give their all for the club and their teammates.

Ferry started the game very positively and took early control of the game pinning Dundee West back in their own half however Dundee West always looked dangerous on the counter attack and had the ball in the net, however the attacker had strayed offside which was spotted by the linesman.
Brodie, Jude and Sammy continued to cause the Dundee West defence problems every time the ball went forward.
Dundee West then took the lead with a goal against the run of play with a neat finish from a difficult angle.
Ferry kept at it and Sammy again was giving the Dundee West full back a torrid time. Lyosha who was having a good game in goal for Ferry had to be replaced by Gio after sustaining an injury and Gio with almost his first touch was called into action with a great save to keep the Ferry in the game.
Ferry played very well in the first half and were very unlucky to go into the break a goal down.
The second half again was very even with both sides willing to have a go and the Ferry again looked dangerous and had chances through Sammy, Jude and Ethan but just couldnt get a shot on target to test the keeper. Great attitude from the Ferry.
McKenzie took a free kick from all of 30 yards which the keeper managed to tip onto the crossbar. Ferry really pushing now for an equaliser but Dundee West managed to hold on to win the cup. Well done to Dundee West.
The lads should be so proud of their performance today and to a man gave their all. Well done lads, as parents im sure we will all agree, we are so proud of your efforts. A great turn out at Forthill Sports Centre after the game saw all players and families come together to mark the Cup Final experience as a team. Congrats to Dundee West.

Mac Brown Cup Semi Final for the Ferry today after coming through previous ties against Forfar and Carnoustie on penalties.
The boys take on Breadalbane from Aberfeldy at Dawson Park. It shows the commitment of this Ferry side who are so desperate to reach a cup final with some lads coming back from Bank Holiday breaks away to be a part of the team for today's game.
Ferry started well and had plenty of the ball and had an early effort from Jude saved by the Breadalbane keeper followed by a clearance off the line from a Jayden header.
Ferry then took a well deserved lead with a good passage of play between Jayden and Hamish. Jayden delivered a great low cross into a dangerous area which struck a defender and ended up in the net. Jayden claiming the goal.
Ferry doubled their lead with another great piece of play from Ronin, Sammy and Jude with Jude finishing off the move with a great strike.
Jude then ran about 60 yards with the ball after a Breadalbane corner broke down and made it 3 for the Ferry with another nice finish.
Ferry won a free kick down the left and Jayden fired across a brilliant cross where Sammy was on hand to bundle it across the line for Ferry's 4th just before half time.
Ferry started the 2nd half on the front foot and Oscar came close following a corner from Brodie.
Another corner saw a shot from Cammy cleared off the line.
Ferry were now in cruise mode and a poor passback from a Breadalbane defender ended up in the net for Ferry's 5th.
McKenzie's journey back from Peterhead just for the game paid off when he collected the ball 25 yards out and struck a beauty high into the net for Ferry's 6th.
McKenzie then became provider with a long free kick over the Breadalbane defence where Jamie had made a good run to latch onto the ball and neatly clip it over the keeper and into the goal for number 7.
McKenzie with another assist, this time from a corner finds Oscar with a great header in the 6 yard box for number 8 and Oscar again added Ferrys 9th with a neat finish just moments later.
Ferry were not finished yet and Zac got the 10th to round up the scoring with the last kick of the game.
A very well deserved win for the lads and they deserve credit as they could easily have taken their foot off the gas, but they kept going and scored some very good goals.
The win takes the Ferry into a Cup Final which will be played next Sunday at North End Park against Dundee West Reds.

Mac Brown Cup Quarter Final at Oswald Park for the lads against a Carnoustie side who never give up and always prove difficult to beat and this cup game was no different.
Ferry started well and had 3 or 4 great chances but just couldn't capitalise and find that magic touch infront of goal. Carnoustie had their chances also but never really found the target early on. The game was in need of a touch of magic and Jude provide just that, controlling the ball with a great first touch then turning the defender and placing the ball into the bottom corner of the net giving the Carnoustie keeper no chance.
Brodie almost doubled the lead for the Ferry when space opened up infront of him and he drove forward striking a shot just wide of the post.
Just before half time Lyosha kept Carnoustie at bay with a great save from a long range free kick which was heading into the net.
Carnoustie were throwing boys forward and were dangerous from long throw ins but the Ferry defence held up well and nullified any threat.
Into the second half and Carnoustie won a penalty which was converted well to bring the game level.
Ferry kept plugging away and had efforts from Zac and Sammy go agonisingly wide. Ferry the better team in the second half but just couldn't get the winner and the game went to penalty kicks.
Well done to the lads who put their hands up to take a penalty, Lewis Gorrie, Jude, Sammy, Gio, Zac, McKenzie and Jayden. The Ferry win the shootout 5-4.
Well done to both keepers who made saves to keep their side in the shootout which turned out to be very entertaining for the spectators.
A home tie in the semi final for the lads against Breadalbane who may be a surprise package on Sunday coming.

Match Day 20 and all roads lead to Arbroath where the lads face a very good Arbroath Harp side who have been having a great season and sit just 4 points behind the Ferry with 2 games in hand, so a very important game for both sides as the season end is in sight.
Ferry started well and took control early on with a great piece of play. Brodie found Jude with a great through ball and Jude made no mistake to fire the Ferry infront.
It wasn't long before Arbroath were level with a free kick from distance against the run of play.
Arbroath then scored 2 goals with the sun causing chaos in the eyes of the Ferry defence and then they added a 4th after Ferry completely switched off just before the half.
Ferry grabbed a goal back 15 minutes into the 2nd half when Ronin beat his man and was fouled in the box. Jude stepped up and scored the penalty in style.
Ferry then got another to bring the score back to 1 when Cammy controlled the ball on the edge of the box and neatly chipped it over the keeper into the net.
The game was well contested with both sets of players fighting for one another and the sides were very well matched but unfortunately on this occasion the lads came out with no points but this game could have gone either way. Very unlucky lads. The boys need to dust themselves down and go again next week against Carnoustie in the cup.

Match Day 19 and back to League business against Mearns Youth at Whitton Park after a great cup victory over Forfar before the Easter break.
Ferry started on the front foot but created little in the way of chances in the early stages. Mearns took the lead through a neat passage of play midway through the 1st half.
Ferry upped their game after going a goal behind and started creating chances and this payed off with the equaliser coming through Jude from just inside the box. Ferry could have taken the lead through Cammy however a great piece of defending prevents the ball going into the net.
The second half started with Ferry pushing for a second with Lewis G finding Oscar who played in Zac who was unlucky. Ferry then managed to get infront when the keeper saved a long range effort but pushed the ball out to Jude who had followed in well and tucked the ball into the net. Not long after the restart Jude scored his and Ferry's 3rd with a great finish into the top corner and moments later Zac got the 4th with a great finish to make it 4-1.
Gio played a ball upfield which was well controlled by Oscar, who turned and found Zac with a lovely pass who tucked the ball away for his 2nd of the game.
Oscar then got in on the act with an absolute beauty, when he gathered the ball 25 yards out, turned and finished in style to make it 6.
Credit to Mearns who never gave up, and they had chances to score but Gio made a couple of good saves to keep them at bay.
A good victory for the lads going into another tough midweek game down in Arbroath.
