Wow what a day it’s been, some great bowls and some great experiences.
16 teams took part in today’s competition and some had never played short mat before. Honestly I can’t thank everyone enough for taking part and helping us raise money for a deserving cause BHF West Midlands British Heart Foundation.
1st place CAEN from Basingstoke unbeaten all day,
2nd place Sharpness SMBC from Gloucestershire
3rd place Ross from Herefordshire
4th place Queenie Crew(woolhope) from Herefordshire.
Our running total raised is £426.48 and this will be a running total until 8th May 2026 when the just giving page closes and all donations have been made. I will keep you all updated on the total as we go.
Anyone who still wishes to donate can do so at:
https://www.justgiving.com/page/charitycup26?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=CL
And the majority of the games can be watched back on YouTube by searching for BowlsDriveTV.
Thank you to all the volunteer commentators and everyone who helped throughout the day and Helen for the streaming throughout the day, also thank you to John Alder for umpiring, and Sandra Felton and June Green for helping update tables when score cards came in. As always a massive thank you to Bromsgrove Indoor Bowls Club for being a brilliant host as always and finally thank you to Pershore Bowls Centre and everyone else who donated raffle prizes.
Onwards and upwards for next year. We’re going for bigger and better.
