Sundays game seen us take on greenlands for a 10.15 KO.
We started the game really well where as greenlands seemed to struggle to get into a groove. We continued to play the ball around nicely, and seen a few efforts come close but not really much after 15. The lively darell Thompson then crashed a lovely effort off the bar and we seen a deflected cross hit their post, really knocking at the door....
Our opener came from Jake the wall cullinane taking no prisoners and winning the battle with the two greenlands players and then played an excellent ball for darell to finish nicely near post,1 nil... we continued to play well but nothing to add to the first half.
2nd half we started where we left off and a lovely ball from TWP gave darell all he needed to expertly finish for 2.
Debutant Luke yelland then shown me why he was worth the 10 quid transfer π
when he drove down our left and despite seeing his 1st effort blocked, then lifted the rebound over the keeper for 3 nil at 60 mins.... greenlands dead and buried.... or so we thought....
greenlands then actually put things together and really gave a good account of themselves and proved they are no mugs and started spreading the ball and looking menacing. Real end to end with both sides being wasteful, with cal and gil missing for us when both could of squared it. Greenlands reduced the deficit when they closed us down and only a half clearance seen them tuck in a good effort for 3-1. Not long later a high cross caused some confusion between Ryan and the defence and their striker was the most determined to get there and put the header in to make it a nervy 3-2. Then gil picked up a 2nd yellow with 15 left. Ry khan made a great save to keep it 3-2.
Motm coz. Winning the ball constantly and seemed to be everywhere apart from when its his round...
