Lately I've been reflecting on the conversations I have after class. Almost every session, someone stays behind for a chat.
We talk about how the practice felt, anxiety, nervous system regulation, neurodivergence, family struggles, work stress, grief, joy—whatever is present that day.
There’s sometimes sharing about life during and post cancer treatment- both the physical and mental long term effects that people are living with. Oh, and peri / menopause- there’s lots of that! 🥵
Sometimes people cry. Sometimes they need to let go of frustrations. Sometimes they just need five minutes with someone who will listen.
It's made me realise that while yoga brings people onto the mat, it's often the human connection that keeps us coming back.
In a world where so many of us feel rushed, isolated, or overwhelmed, these small moments of genuine connection really matter.
If you've ever stayed behind for a chat, thank you for trusting me with that.
And if you ever need a listening ear, please know you're always welcome. 🙏
