Excellent team performance. Every single one of the lads contributed to a great fielding and batting performance.

Very pleasing to see the things we talk about in training be put into practice with the result being a convincing victory.

I think we must have scored more than ten boundaries which is something we have been focussing on. Being positive and striking the ball with strength.

We restricted Bewdley to net score of 71 having taken three wickets. Congratulations to Nolan on his first hard ball wicket! ๐Ÿ‘

Batting wise we ended with a net score of around 120. Calling and backing up a highlight to go with the positive approach to scoring runs ๐Ÿ

Well done to everyone! ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿ Avoncroft U11s continue their winning form! ๐Ÿ

Avoncroft U11s produced another winning performance on Monday to record a 22-run victory over Rushwick CC. After electing to field, the team worked well in the field to restrict the visitors to a net score of 261, setting the platform for a confident run chase.

The bowling attack shared the workload brilliantly, with Freddie Hebbron and Jamie Beddows claiming two wickets apiece, while Albert Davis and Leo Evans also got amongst the wickets. Tight bowling and fielding throughout the innings kept the pressure on Rushwick and ensured runs were hard to come by.

In reply, Avoncroft started batting positively with Freddie Hebbron (12) and Leo Evans (9). The middle order of (Stanley Shepherd, Jamie Beddows, Albert Davis and Lucas Johnson) kept Croft in touch with the run rate, despite some occasional running wobbles. The final pair of Ollie Bishop (21) and Louie Milroy (17) bringing the team home with some sensible batting play.

This was a true team effort, with contributions throughout the side. Well done all. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ

๐ŸWeekend Roundup ๐Ÿ

The 1st XI hosted Worcester and put in an impressive bowling display after winning the toss and fielding first. Josh Cound and Ben Huxley both took 3 wickets, Jonny Sproule got 2 with Ben Athey and Alex Richardson picking up one each as we bowled the visitors out for 155. In reply, it was very much the Alex Brunt show, scoring an impressive 105 not out from just 48 balls, including 11 fours and 8 sixes! ๐Ÿ๐Ÿงจ๐Ÿ”ฅ
We knocked the runs off in the 17th over to pick up a 6 wicket victory!

The 2nd XI bowled first after losing the toss and bowled Bosbury out for 149. Openers, Will Lewis (3-30) and Evan Walford (2-25) got us off to a good start, taking 5 wickets between them, before Max Jukes got in on the action, taking 3 wickets. Mike Sadowski and Andy Pittam picked up a wicket each. In the run chase we found conditions to be tough, losing early wickets, leaving us with too much work to do as we fell to defeat.

The 3rd XI batted first and put on 186 in 40 overs. George Warren (38), Brent Burford (35) and Jon Brunt (30) all got into the 30s as we put on a competitive total. The bowlers then got to work and put in a brilliant display. Carter Morgan and Ravi Verma continued their impressive starts to the season, taking 4 wickets and 3 wickets respectively. Joe McGee, Josh Gammon and Mohd Talha (on debut) all took a wicket each to wrap up a 115 run win! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ™Œ

Avoncroft U9s Festival Summary ๐Ÿ

Another fantastic festival for the Avoncroft U9s, with plenty of positives to take away from the day.

Results

* Avoncroft 86 v Barnt Green A 56
* Barnt Green B 79 v Avoncroft 57
* Avoncroft 92 v Worcester Norton 79

Across the three games, every player contributed towards a combined total of 12 wickets, highlighting what a real team effort it was.

A special mention goes to our younger players, with around four U7s making their festival cricket debut. They all played brilliantly and looked right at home. The U7 twins, Alex and Will, opened one innings together and put on an excellent 20 runs, while Joey produced a sharp run out and Toby took a superb catch.

It has been brilliant to see how much all of the older players have improved since the first festival. A special shout out to Charlie, who celebrated both his first wicket and his first boundaries. Another mention goes to Myles, who, after a very tough week, showed tremendous character by taking a wicket with the final ball of the festival to secure our second victory of the day.

Three enjoyable matches, two excellent victories and lots of progress across the squad. The future is looking very bright for this team.

Squad
Oliver, Thomas O, Thomas C, Charlie, Toby, Frederick, Myles, Jack, Joey, Niall, Will and Alex.

Tough result on Tuesday against Hagley CC U10s, but plenty of positives to take away.

A huge well done to our three debutants, who all stepped up brilliantly and showed great confidence throughout the game. You should all be very proud of your performances.

The team worked hard for each other from start to finish, showing fantastic teamwork, energy and determination. On another day, a few unlucky dismissals could easily have gone our way and changed the outcome.

A special mention goes to Charlie, who marked his debut in style by taking 2 wickets in a single over! An excellent achievement and a moment to remember.

Results donโ€™t always tell the full story, and Tuesday was a great example of that. Plenty to build on and lots of reasons to be excited for the games ahead. Well done everyone! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ

After the success of our fundraising last year with the Toyota UK Good For Cricket prize draw, we are launching it again this year too. All the efforts put in by everyone last year helped us to regenerate the scorebox to look fantastic now and we need your support with our plan this year to invest in some new mowers for our square. We are targeting raising ยฃ2500 which will be a significant part of the investment needed.

Thereโ€™s some great prizes to be won, ranging from brand new cars, VIP hospitality tickets, replica kits and much more! For every ticket purchased, the club will receive 100% of the proceeds. ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ ๐Ÿš˜๐Ÿš™

Please share with friends and family to see if we can beat our target!
The draw closes on Wednesday 30th September 2026 - good luck everyone! ๐Ÿคž
