There is always that ‘what if scenario’ and risk when sea swimming no matter how safe you think you might be and especially when you start to push the boundaries and take on the marathon swimming challenges.
I hope I never have to call out the Arran RNLI team.
Its a privilege to know they’ve got my back with their voluntary commitment to saving lives at sea 24/7 365days of the year.
As the old saying goes, 'the nights are fair drawing in'! Our volunteer crew head out at any time of the day or night, and in any conditions to save lives at sea.
As a charity, we are entirely funded by the donations made by our generous supporters. This weekend, local open water swimmer Mermaiding Georgina will be undertaking an amazing challenge by swimming 24 miles over 24 hours in Lamlash Bay and she'll be donating the money raised to some great local causes including us here at Arran RNLI.
